X8R Bind Issue

I upgraded my X9D+ to the latest firmware today and I am trying to bind my X8R receiver. In the model setup I have:
Mode: XJT D16
Channel Range: CH1-8
The received has a sold green LED but the servos are not moving when using the controller. I am sure I am doing something stupid. Any ideas? Thanks!

What firmware did you update?
Are the receiver and radio of the same region?
