MasterRadio TX16S

erskyTx runs on many radios and upgrade boards
ersky9x was a port of er9x for use on the sky9x board.

I hit enter with the roller and suddenly the screen went black.
Power on does not work anymore, only the above characters are flashing. the power light does not burn at all anymore. When I let go of the power button, the blinking of the characters has gone out.
I have contact to the bootloader via the PC device manager.
Could the role have caused a black out? I didn't trust the part very much because the setting was not precise.

Here are the instructions, from openTx, for using the STM bootloader:
http://open-txu.org/home/undergraduate- ... ing-zadig/

Follow these instructions and you should be able to get openTx back on, then we can go from there.

Hy Mike

I checked and made it straight away. STM bootloader was always available.
The transmitter is "dead" no power lamp!
Presumably a case for warranty, I submitted. Let's see what comes out. I suspect the roller blacked out

So did you managed to get openTx written to the radio, but it still doesn't work?

Just to be certain, is that after you flashed openTx after using Zadig and the power off method of flashing?

studying the video of bardwell, radiomaster bricked.
1. PC with driver for DFU, impulseRC
2. Transmitter without battery
3. Connection of PC to transmitter
4. loaded with companion software opentx

Very important The transmitter must be without a battery, no success with the battery connected. it took me a long time to get to this point

Hi Mike,
my joy in experimenting is a little clouded. for me the software 223A9 in color with logical key assignment would be sufficient. This software is clear and quick to adapt and easy to use.
thank you phil

There are things that one does not understand.
before I could restart the transmitter I removed the erskyTx programs from the SD card. after the restart I loaded again via eePskye erskyTx.
There is no erskyTx on the bootloader, and there is no erskyTx on the SD card either, although I operate the transmitter with it!
where is the software hidden?

In the processor's built-in flash memory, the card doesn't hold firmware.

Hi Mike,
I noticed that the two lateral rotary valves SL and SR do not run synchronously. I've tried a lot but haven't made it. Do you have a guy there?

there is always something new for me. Suddenly the power lamp from the Radiomaster shows "green" and not red. Firmware: erskyTx is from March 19, so the latest version. What has changed?
that's great!

I did fix a bug with the calibration of the SR slider being lost. You should have this fixed, but need to do a calibration to get the SR operating correctly.

I did change the power switch LED to be green for the TX16S. My Jumper T16 doesn't have a green LED.

Thanks for the information.
I noticed that with the A9r 223 software the RS signal was lost. The error was eliminated in the B3r 223 software. the slider
direction RS should be reversed so that when the button points upwards the bar also deflects upwards.
For the optics, it would be nice if some display images were placed more in the middle.
Thanks Mike

Hi Mike,
in october last year we had contact about the height sensor cat01. We couldn't activate it at the time and display the altitude.
In the new TX16S with the latest software, the transmitter shows the altitude with opentx, but not with erskyTx. what can be the reason?

I haven't sorted AFHDS2A telemetry processing. Please run with the AFHDS2A telemetry and create a "RAW LOG FILE" of the telemetry data (search on this forum for "RAW LOGGING" for instruction on how to get raw logging, choose "hex" format). Then post the log file (zipped) and I'll investigate.

Hi Mike,
it took some time. I had to see how it works with the raw file.
logging with cat1 worked, I hope you can do something with the data. Greetings Siegi

Yes, that is useful, it will take me a couple of days to get that sensor working, it needs specific calculation as it is returning pressure and temperature that needs to be converted to altitude.

Hello Mike,
the program runs very well so that the erskyTx file could be entered on the er9x -erskyTx homepage.

I have tried to love the OpenTX in my RM TX16S but do not care for it. I have experience with er9x in the Turnigy 9x and am very glad to hear that a similar firmware is available for the TX16S.
I have eePesky and OpenTX Companion installed on my computer.

So, the analog guy in a digital world questions begin, if y'all would be so kind as to indulge me.
1. Is TX16S_rom.zip file dated 2Aug20 the version referred to by phil in the previous post and is it still the most recommended?
2. If yes, what is the install procedure?
3. If no, where do I start?
4. I understand from reading in this thread that OpenTX is recoverable if I can't get erskytx going, can someone confirm that for me?

Cheers, everybody

Use tx16s_rom.bin from erskyTxR223B5.zip at https://openrcforums.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=4676.

Use Companion to backup your models and settings first, then you will be able to go back if needed.
Companion should allow you to flash the tx16s_rom.bin file.
You may, however, wish to install eepskye on your computer, and flash from that.
Alternatively, just copy the tx16s_rom.binfile to the firmware directory of the SD card, then use the bootloader option to flash it.

I have eePe, eePeSKY and Companion all on my computer. Models and settings had already been backed up.

TX not connected to computer.
Double click on tx16s_rom.bin after downloading it to my computer opens epee, but it is not found in the file list when "Flash Firmware to TX" is selected. Took no other action, closed eepe.

Opened eePeSKY, selected "Flash Firmware to TX", then copied tx16s_rom.bin (size is 499kb) to the file list, but took no further action.
Am I on the right track, here? Go ahead and flash tx16s_rom.bin to the TX using eePeSKY from the point I described above?

Go to the test versions thread and download "eepskye5.zip" dated 12-Dec-2020 19:53.
This uses QT5 to build (instead of QT4), install by extracting all files, keeping the directory structure, to a suitable directory.

In the file "erskyTxR223B5.zip", there is also an update to eepskye (QT5 version). Copy the file eepskye.exe from that file over the QT5 file you extracted above.

Now try flashing using this version of eepskye. (This version also includes a "View Logfile feature").

If that doesn't work, try copying the tx16s_rom.bin file to the "firmware" directory of the SD card and try flashing it from the bootloader.
