Quanum DIY FPV goggles mods :) (Improvements)

Post by prizreni »

Hallo everyone

I'm getting into FPV so I purchased the Quanum DIY FPV goggles (KIT). Yesterday they arrived and i tried them but there are a few things I didn't like about them so i made some mods including changing the lens and replacing it with another fressnel lens or eventually two. adjusting the angle of the monitor, mounting the strap with some carbon rods. The fressnel lens i used has e 3X magnification factor. I don't have other types or I could try with 4X or 5X, that's why i put two lenses after each-other. Everyone who own this goggles should try this mod ;) I hope you enjoy the video.

Hi guys.

I have attached the quanum DIY goggle screen to the turnigy 9XR radio using SJ4000 camera mounting brackets. Just need to cut flat the middle part of the monitor with a saw and glue the mount which comes with double sided tape. I have used velcro to attach the screen to the goggle and also to attach the receiver to the screen and/or goggle. The screen and the receiver will be powered by the transmitter using the power and ground connection on the futaba port, so when you turn on or off the radio, the screen and receiver will be turned on/off automatically. Total weight without the quanum mask (including FrSky patch antenna and Turnigy 9XR stand, monitor, receiver, cables and battery of course) 1280 grams.

There are a lot of people i read here that have changed the screen so they have this screen as spare and can use it like me :)

This is how i connect the Turnigy 9XR, the RC805 5.8 Ghz receiver and the screen mounted on the radio with one battery.
