Where to find er9x

er9x is the best known firmware. It has a superb range of features and is well supported by the community. Well worth trying out.

Thanks for that setup guide. This is like trying to drive through Memphis with a Boston road map! It sure was easy with the right directions.

I think these developers should wait to release until they have all the documentation in order.

I sympathize, but I'd rather not postpone my trip for a couple of years while someone produces a Memphis map. I'd go on the Memphis website and find one! Or ask a local. Which is essentially what the forum allows.

This is the world of open source -- it's all voluntary. In fact, the documentation here is sometimes a lot better than you can find for some commercial products. The lack of coordination does put a burden on those looking for information, but the benefit is the amazing power of the free and highly innovative firmware.

By the way, the developer is singular. His name is Mike. I hope you've contributed.

Some of us are supporting him by helping with the documentation issue. As my colleague said, we hope to have the new version of the manual out next week.

Re: Where to find er9x manual

Has the manual been released yet? Now I am trying to change the channel assignments to match a DSM2 transmitter. TAER= 1234. I can't find the page that used to let me do that. Right now my throttle is mapped to chan 3. I am trying to setup a DSM2 receiver that has gyro stab built in. I need the channel order to be that way because right now it seems like gyro is causing the throttle to run up when I move the aircraft to check pitch gyro. I have the servos running right without gyro but I had to reassign the channels of the rcvr to match the transmitter and have throttle on chan 3 now. Also how do I reverse channels on this thing now?

Getting very frustrated with it.

go to the Model setup menu, Mixer, select channel 1, highlight it, press menu, select edit.
An edit mix menu will open.. Change the source value to Thr.

Do the same to the other channels and select the right source.
If you want the same channel order the next time you create a model, go to the radio setup index menu, Controls, Channel order, press menu and select TAER. The next time you create a model or apply a template, it will respect that order..

To reverse a channel go to the limits menu in model setup, highlight the channel you want to reverse, move the cursor to the right, and change "---" to "INV"

The manual is nearly ready and it won't take long now.. Don't forget we do this on our free time. We are working on some examples at the moment..

Ahh, that thing is called er9x I suppose? and it is just one of the best "Things" that could have happened to the RC World.. The good thing is, we don't have to use that "thing" if we don't like it ;) :)

Well that does not seem to work. On the screen that comes up after the Splash screen I select to see the Model name and the graphic display of the channels that also shows the trim positions. . No matter what I do in the setup channel assignments are not changing. I am just going to put it away and wait for the manual. I have not had any problems with my other 9x running that same version but using a FrSky module and a new X8R receiver. I just successfully set up a plane with that and a Vector but sbus made that easy. This DSM2 Orange module is something different. The receiver I am attempting to use is a Orange RX3SM Micro Flight Stabilizer. The receiver board is directly connected to the gyros and with out the 9x transmitting on the proper channels makes the gyro control the wrong channels if I connect it to operate with the gyros off or the gain all the way down.

The channel assignment of an existing model will not change until you change it by yourself in the mixer menu.
You have to move the lines with the appropriate inputs to the channel line you need.

For TAER e.g the line with THR as source you have to move to channel one (first line in mixer menu) ...
the line with RUD as source you have to move to channel 4 ...

A couple pictures of your setup might help.. as well as posting the eeprom here.. then we can see what you're trying to do.. I never seen that controller board, so I don't know what it needs from the radio..

The firmware on www.er9x.com is the latest for both processors.
Googlecode is closing down, so I haven't put anything on there for a long time.

hi,
Please execuse me for hijacking this thread. I have this error when using eepe try to read from 9x.
"avrdude.exe: error: could not find USB device "USBasp" with vid=0x16c0 pid=0x5dc"

Long story short, i am replacing my board after frying it while soldering it with the one from Banggood. It is the same board with HD0 XXX chip. Together i installed SP Basic 9x Programmer in order to flash it. I got blank display with backlight when switched it ON. USBasp detected in Device Manager, drivers installed from Radig
Please assist

Have you looked at this page: https://smartieparts.com/shop/index.php ... fj8cm1jnb1
and followed the instructions and troubleshooting?

Note that with the SP Basic board, you need the 9X powered on to be able to flash it.
