Green processor issues.

er9x is the best known firmware. It has a superb range of features and is well supported by the community. Well worth trying out.

Green processor issues.

Post by FenixRC »

Good morning to all!

My first message in the forum; I hope to learn as much as I can from you!

Get to the point: I have just bought a Turnigy 9x from HK with the new "Green ED 040502 H16D 1105" processor. Once soldered the six pads and after some research I have realized that some people argue that this processor does not work well with the er9x firmware.

The question is: are those issues already resolved? Will it be safe to flying glow model airplanes with this transmitter & firmware?

Thank you in advance. Regards.

After further research I can answer myself: the chips are ok. It is just a matter of how you deal with the flashing process.

Taking into account I am a total illiterate when it comes to this kind of upgrades, can anyone help me to flash it properly (step by step) by using Arduino Uno? The soldering is already done...

I would appreciate it as I know this kind of posts are a chore.

Thanks a lot!

First of all, did you try to flash the radio? If so, and if it didn't work, what error is being displayed?
We need to know exactly what you are doing so we can help you. Don't forget that we cannot see your stuff :)

I have not flashed it yet as I am not sure 100% the processor is compatible with the er9x, I mean, I want to be sure before taking the plunge. I have read contradictory information and I would like to know your point of view.

What is your opinion about the er9x working with these processors?

Thank you for your participation and patience, Joao.

Well, I don't have any radio with that processor, and if I did, first thing I would do would be replacing it :) So, I have no experience with it.
But I think other users did flash it successfully with Er9x. I am not sure, but I think Mike made a special version for it.
I think it might be one of the versions found here:
https://openrcforums.com/forum/viewtopi ... 598#p64969

There is one called "er9x-128Green.zip", but I am not sure if it is fully functional or just a specific test.. :(

Thank you, Joao.

I hope MikeB reads this post to get out of doubts. In the meantime I will research about how to solder a processor with just a chinese solder..

I will keep you on the loop.

As far as I can tell, some "Green" processors have a watchdog timer that is running too fast. Try the latest test version of er9x, but if this doesn't run properly, try the specific one João mentioned.

MikeB, Jhsa,

Sorry for the late reply.

Finally I made it! Just following some old threads.

The hardest part was to figure out that my processor is m128 instead of 64 -1 hour to identify the error cause-.

Now it is time to carry out some test flying and see if the standard er9x version fits well in my board.

Thank you so much for your selfless work. Both the firmware & the manual looks pretty neat!

Regards.
