Re: Flash lights on release of servo - Bait Boat Help

Hi João,

Ok here is what I have found when using this so far.

1. Switch Warning AIL, but when the switch is in down position lights are off, should this be reversed so that off is up and on is down?

2. When the left stick is held to left this drops the hopper like it should, thank you, but lights do not flash, When holding left stick to the right, the right hopper drops again perfect and lights do flash so perfect on that bit.

3. Left motor speed controller not powering propellor, ESC is constantly flashing, but the right ESC is working fine, not sure if I have missed anything, They are Hobbywing Quicrun 1060 Brushed ESC's

4. Is there any way I can reduce the speed of the boat with a switch. like quick and slow mode?

Many thanks for all your brilliant help, much appreciated.

Thanks John

Hi, ok think I have sorted out issue 2 and 3 except I need to reverse one of the ESC's as when trying to go forward one propellor spinning in reverse if this makes sense. So how do I get props to work correct?

Also, would there be any reason why one ESC sounds like its putting more power to one motor as in maximum throttle is louder on one side than other which can't be helping the situation, just getting more puzzled on what to do

Thanks John

Please post again the model as you have it.. Let me know where you have connected the left and right ESCs.

Also, the ESCs need to see stick at center to initialize, right?

João

EDIT: Check that you don't have one of the motors connected reversed..

Hi João

Both motors are connected exactly the same way,

Left Motor / ESC is Channel 1
Right Motor / ESC is Channel 2

When stick is center and boat is turned out power goes to ESCs and they initialize, yes, here is manual link for them https://hobbyking.com/media/file/q/u/qu ... manual.pdf

Thanks

Have not changed anything, just uploaded your file, also should I turn the ESCs so there is no brake function or leave it as it is with Forward, Brake, Reverse?

I am quite busy at the moment.. will look at it when I have time.. You should also experiment with the mixing. Try reversing channels on the limits menu. I find strange that one of the motors is going in the wrong direction.. Those are brushed motors, so perhaps is soldered reversed to ESC compared to the other motor??
You could also try swapping the motors on the receiver. I don't have the boat in front of me, that makes it very difficult to do that kind of mixing.. i can't see what is happening.. :(

Hi, think I am getting there with the mixing, for some reason one is on 100% and the other only 50% to get the same sort of thrust, don't think this is right but not sure.

I am trying to get my FrSky Battery Voltage Sensor to send voltage back to the handset so I know when it reaches say 11v bring back, what settings in the handset do I need to change? thanks John

Fixed the issue, for some reason one of the ESCs had a jumper that was set on NIMH rather than LIPO, also removed the brake function so its just forward and reverse

I also swapped a wire on the motor so they spin in opposite directons as props are handed.

So really only thing I need to do now is show battery voltage on transmitter, have purchased the frsky FBVS-01 and all connected just not sure what settings I need to change to tell me the model voltage on transmitter. Thanks John

Again, what frsky module and receiver do you have? And radio? Sorry, I am sure you already mentioned it somewhere but I don't have much time to read all posts at the moment, as I am busy :)

Hi, think I have managed to fix all
Issues except for one.

I am using the Turnigy 9XR Pro with FRSky DJT module

I have setup the 3 position switch for different flight modes

Up is Loiter
Middle is Normal
Down is Auto

This shows the modes on the LCD display in top right corner, but have set a further 2 modes Slow and Fast which should be activated when ID- is middle and !THR or THR is used but it does not show FAST OR SLOW in top left hand corner

Thanks John

are you actually programming the modes in the "Modes" menu? If so, did you give them a name?
