After having a bit of a read up about that op amp(IS31AP2005) and the problems some were having with the noise I'm not really sure if moving that track will have much effect. Still willing to do it but just having a think.

Thinking of having 2 tracks for the DAC_COMBINED where you can just solder a 0 ohm resistor to whichever track you would like to use, and maybe also the same where both tracks meet back over near the cpu. The original type track will continue to run parallel with SDA and SCL (I may be able to move it to the very outside so the SWITCH_INPUTS2 would separate us from those tracks). The other track will go the otherside of the board as it is now (though I may still move a few things around to maybe get it in a better spot).

Thoughts?

Update:
I had planned on maybe using a jumper setup but there isn't a lot of space around that opamp without redesigning the whole lot. I have added some pics below of the pcb. Use 0 ohm resistors on whichever track you want to use at both ends. The original DAC_COMBINED line has been moved to the very outside track of the top layer. My alternate route at the top had a little redesign too.

I figure this may even allow us a little more room to experiment with other items as well on those tracks instead of 0 ohm resistors (caps, ferrite beads etc). Willing to maybe try and fit a couple more pads on each line on the bottom layer if people think it may help a bit. Personally I am going to try and go from using an IS31AP2005 and try and use a TS4962IQT and see if there is any difference. Github updated.

I have my own BOM list that includes a few components that are a little different to those that s_mac was using, however they meet the same specs. For those who may want this you can message me and I'll send it over. Otherwise I'll just leave the files so others can make up their own.

Ok well I couldn't wait until the 7th :) so the order was just lodged. Hopefully it goes straight into production after they review it and we don't need to change anything. All going well the boards should land in Australia about the 16th of this month. Once i have them I'll post some pictures and message everyone who wanted one.

Will keep everyone updated!

Well DHL always impress me with their delivery times. Shenzhen to Perth in 41.5 hours. I hadn't expected them so soon. I'll get around to dropping messages to everyone who wanted some. I'll post up some general shipping costs later for those who are interested from the countries I have seen so far.

Remember I only ordered 30 though more can be ordered later. I also ordered a stencil to assemble my own personal boards and depending on how that goes there may be some assembled boards a little later. Anyways as promised -

I've ordered some parts for my own build, i also ordered enough to build at least another 4. Will see what works first before I offer anything for sale :)
The only stuff I have left to source/build is the pogo's if i go that route, the usb header and cable, the rgb backlight and the speaker. No promises.

Just some general shipping and payment info for those wondering. I can ship tracked+insured in a satchel(will vac seal and bubble wrap) to most countries no worries. Upto 500g. Highly recommended!

I can also post via international post (just a padded envelope, vac sealed boards and some cardboard around it) with no tracking and no insurance. 5 boards maximum due to weight restrictions. Not recommended but will do for those who want too chance it! (I know these hobbies of ours are expensive!)

Boards are $7USD each. Payment via paypal.

SHIPPING COSTS

USA
Tracked+Insured = 18 USD
Padded envelope no tracking or insurance(max 5) = 12 USD

UK & IRELAND
Tracked+Insured = 22 USD
Padded envelope no tracking or insurance(max 5) = 12 USD

GERMANY
Tracked+Insured = 22 USD
Padded envelope no tracking or insurance(max 5) = 12 USD

AUSTRALIA (Boards are 10aud ea)
Express+Tracked+Insured = 15 AUD

Any other countries feel free to message me. Please understand there may be a little delay with replies due to real life but it should be no more than 2 days.

I would guess that we will probably only post 1 or 2 days a week (don't want to upset the missus too much :D   )

So (should) we are to be waiting to see how this new board is preforms before we place our orders ?

There are only minor differences in the pcb's really. The is an extra route for the DAC and the original one was moved to give us a little more room from the i2c tracks, you can choose whichever one to use. This hasn't been tested, but even if you use the original line it should be fine and have a little less interference.

The other thing was the reverse polarity protection has been fixed.

Not a lot of differences but there is a lot of small parts so definitely not a project for the faint of heart ;)

As for assembled boards I have some parts on the way to assemble 5(1 for myself) but I was never really intending to put them up for purchase as such but there is still a possibility if they all work fine. Some of these boards may have a different opamp and flash I was going to test out. I also found tracking down all the original parts to be a little bit of a pain, mostly some of those jst connectors can be a pain to get. Still managed to track everything down from a few different sources. Even got some speakers coming to test out. You can just use the original BOM you will just need an extra 2 extra 0 ohm 0402 resistors to choose DAC direction and 2 extra 100 ohm 0603 for PXX-PPM1 and PXX-PPM2.

The only things I haven't worried about for assembled boards currently was the microusb header which I'm sure I can wrangle something together fairly easily. Still thinking about making a few rgb backlights up. Didn't worry about the pogo's either as I plan on just soldering wires and have a connector in the middle if we need to connect/disconnect as per jhsa's idea.

First 7 boards have been sent out today. 5 for assembly. Down to 18 already lol! Can easily order more when we need them. Would like to wait off on ordering more until we get a little feedback from the people who brought some of the first batch.

If anyone has any queries they can feel free to pop me a msg. As soon as my parts come and I have a chance to assemble something I'll post some pictures and info.

I think I might be able to use some components I have here, if they are pin and size compatible. For example the mosfets and other transistors. For the mosfet I normally use the AO3407A. According to the specs it should work. :) for the speaker I have a nice 3W /4 Ohm speaker for it, but need to find out if the audio amp can handle its impedance.

If you grab the original production files that were released from here https://github.com/tortureau/9Xtreme/re ... .Files.zip

Inside this file is the original BOM with all the parts required. However due to our mods you will require a few extra resistors. You will require:
2x 0ohm 0402 size (for the DAC route you want to use)
2x 100ohm 0603 size (for PXX-PPM1 and PXX-PPM2)

I have one 9x radio with er9x on it which I can upgrade.
If I do this mode "Reverse Current Protection Mod for 9xtreme": https://openrcforums.com/forum/viewtopi ... 126&t=7745
how would this affect or is it needed ?

Bob, the new board should not need that mod, as the original 9xtreme reverse polarity protection problem, as well as other issues, have been fixed on this new board.

Just a bit of an update so people know stuff is still happening. About 95% of all the parts I need have arrived. Still waiting for a few items that had to come from aliexpress and whilst they are in the post, they are notorious for taking a long time to get here.

I have a desk setup with all the parts laid out ready, stencil and even a microscope. Hopefully will be good to go soon!

Thanks torturedau. I received the four boards. This maybe something that I have overlooked. Is there a "map" of where to populate the components? I am in the process of finding everything in the BOM.

Ok so made a little progress today! This has a couple of different parts whilst I'm waiting for some others. I have ordered some pogo's and rgb's and such. Also some cables. So still waiting for me stuff... but I got one pretty much completed board. Still have to give it a good once over under the microscope and a clean. Only really found the ZH JST connectors hard to solder which was really strange. Everything else went well.

Not sure when I will get a chance to test it.
9xtreme_0.jpg

Did notice a little mistake which doesn't really affect anything, have corrected the pcb file in the release (kept version number the same)
100ohm resistor will be underneath a connector.

Hopefully will get to do some testing tomorrow if all goes well. I found some speakers that should do ok for testing. Still waiting for parts for backlight and cables and stuff.

Managed to mess up the components on another board not pictured... mixed them all up with my hand  . Might fix it one day. Anyways, still got 3 to test out and enough parts left to assemble 1 more. These all have the ST TS4962IQT instead of the IS31AP2005 as I am still waiting for some IS31AP2005 to be delivered.

I don't think they came out to bad considering it was all done with probably the cheapest hot air station I could find at the time. :D
