Receiver numbers

Post by rsilk49 »

I am trying to understand the corellation between the Rx # specified in the protocol page for an XJT module and a physical receiver.

Since it is possible to have a single XJT module and bind multiple receivers to it, what is the significance of the Rx# and how is it initially assigned and subsequently used?

When binding the receiver to the XJT does it assign a unique receiver number based on the current model selected on the radio?

Does it store a unique id number in the receiver memory during the bind process?

Can a particular receiver be moved from plane to plane provided the same Rx # is set in the protocol page?

Currently it is assigned manually in the protocol menu.
When you bind a receiver, the receiver does store the Rx # and only responds to the Tx if the Rx # matches.
Yes you may move the Rx to different 'planes and either keep the Rx # te same or rebind with a different Rx #.

So if I have understood you, it is important to first manually assign the Rx#, e.g. 7, that you want to use in the model/protocol page and then bind.
That number is stored somehow in the physical receiver until it is changed by rebinding with a different number.
In this example, multiple models can use Rx# 7, provided the matching physical receiver is used.
All physical receivers associated with a particular transmitter module must have a unique Rx#.
