9xtreme board...what version of er9x?

Post by gb21914 »

I recently ordered my 9xtreme board because of the direction it is taking. I'm a little vague though on what version of er9x I should plan on running? Is there a specific "9extreme board forum" or version of er9x to run?

Just curious!

Keep up the great work guys!

You run ersky9x, and there will be a specific version (ersky9x9XT_rom.bin) to run on it. Apart from specific additions it is 'standard' ersky9x.

Indeed. If it is selected to be collected from the customs, then you can count with an extra week. Really fast.. ;)

Well by the time they arrive all the bugs will be sorted.
I got the telemetering going and the sound, but I still have no access to the EEPROM just the SD card. I assume that I don’t use sam-ba, anyway it hangs up at 24%.
I tried the TRN sw. to switch to the EEPROM with no effect.
Is there something missing?
I downloaded the ersky9x for the sky board also tried the 9xrpro version 217, I can’t get ver. 218 to run. I am using Win8.1. Of course I did not burn the software to the Tx. Except the sound files.
Additionally, I have a small chatter on the servos and it shows up on the display on the Tx. as well.
So it still has the version 218 software that it came with on it.

I have posted a recent test version of ersky9x here: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=4676#p65894. The .zip files includes ersky9x9XT_rom.bin, which is the version for the 9Xtreme board.

I assume you are powering the radio on holding the horizontal trims inwards to get to the bootloader. When you then connect the USB canle, you should see TWO storage devices appear on your PC, one is the SD card and the other is the flash and EEPROM.

What OS are you running on your PC?
What is the type of USB port (2 or 3), you are using?

I can't get to the EEprom with or without the micro sd card in the board. I see two storage devices. But I don't know what to do next. The second storage device is full with two files. Ah-Ha, I know the problem, I am not used to the way eepesky works, not like opentx. I am running win 8.1. Can I just replace the file on the drive? how do I get to plane files?
I can't figure this out without your help, because it does not make sense to me yet. I have looked at the manual. Does using the TRN key only work for MAC?

Answering my own question. Trn key is not used in win. version.
Don't do anything with the storage device with two files on it.
Use the correct version of eepesky.exe. Currently provisional version.
Put the files in the correct directories.

ersky9x should work much the same as openTx as the bootloader is pretty much the same code I wrote for both.
Are you running eepskye? This makes accessing both the flash and EEPROM very easy. Just make sure you hae "unticked" use SAM-BA in the burn|configure menu.

Thats where I got a problem, no access. It says "Tx Disk not mounted". I already read the instructions.
I forgot to say I am using port 3 Actually, not using port using added drive, one of two.

What revision of eepskye are you running?
You might like to try the version from 09-Oct-2015 posted here: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=4676#p65894.

I gave the EEPROM/Flash drive a different volume name so eepskye would be able to detect the type of Tx to which it is connected. Older revisions of eepskye don't recognise this volume name.

I'm working on making eepskye support the 9Xtreme better as well.

Re: 9xtreme board...what version of er9x?

Post by tedbmoss »

Solved.
The update did not go in to the folder correctly, I did not switch to the proper location in win 8.1. I did it several times before getting it right. I now have Rev. 419 and it has 9xtreme in it. It reads the rom in the Tx. now. Also, I did not know that the revision numbers were not in order, it asks to update from r1 to revision 217. Load eepskye.zip into folder and extract eepeskye.exe to C:\Program Files (x86)\eepe\. For those reading this.

Thanks for your help, I am enjoying the new stuff already. :D
