Re: Receiver numbers when when two modules used.
There are separate but setting one automatically sets the other to the same number, at least in OpenTx 2.0.15. I've never been able to set them to different numbers in the transmitter. You can set them to unique numbers in Companion.

Receiver numbers when two modules used.
I built a camera module that can be moved from plane to plane. It's build around a DSM2 receiver for the pan and tilt. I use a DSM2 hack module in my Taranis to run the camera and the internal XJT module for the plane's controls. The trouble is that the receiver numbers have to match when you set up...

Re: Should rates and expos go in inputs or mixer?
Because there is usually more than one way to do things, you should do what makes sense to you. A year from now when you go back to change something in a model, will you be able to quickly figure out what parameter to change? In my case, I put controls, rates and expo (switches and sticks) on [Input...

An updated, detailed flow chart would be nice. Sometimes it's not clear in the stream from input to output where one operation takes place relative to another.

You haven't set up telemetry on the "telemetria" page. You won't get the telemetry until you tell the Tx what the the signals it's receiving from the X8R are for.

Re: "Official" upgrade for Taranis to Plus?
The Plus has haptic and a better LCD display. It also comes with the larger battery and better sliders that recent Taranii have. It's certainly easier to just buy a new Taranis plus if you want those features. I'm not sure the main board and LCD are even available as parts yet.

The only way to get Spektrum model match is to use a hack module.

Re: model setup via radio
You can program the radio itself. However, you may find it easier to use eepe to work out the program and simulate it. When you are happy with it, print it out and manually program the radio. (It's also nice to have the paper copy to record changes you make in the field.)

Re: FrSky Tx (X12D)
They should have done that to the taranis because the horus seem to be much more capable hardwarewise. It's a waste of power... I bet they are going to get the opentx and make a mess of it like HK did with er9x and the 9XR radio João Frsky seems to be a little smarter than HK. The Taranis at least ...

Or connection.
Try reseating the connections, inspecting for broken wires or pins not seated properly in the plastic shells.

Re: Power tools
I'd go for another Hitachi if you can get one with the same batteries and charger. I love mine. I had 2 old Dewalts with four packs and two chargers. It was really nice to have a both driver and a drill setup so you didn't have to switch. With 4 packs I always had a charged battery too.

Re: Charging the 9XR pro battery
No one system will please everyone but the 9XR/overcharge protected Lipo seems the worst of all. That said, there don't seem to be a lot of reports of fires with that battery/charger setup. Apparently it works and isn't as dangerous as it would seem. (I use a LiFE battery and charge it outside the T...

Any reason to NOT run an XJT and DSM2 simultaneously?
I want to run a camera and gimbal setup on a plane I have. The plane already has a "D" series receiver bound in D8 mode to my Taranis but doesn't have enough spare channels to run the camera. My Taranis has a DSM hack module in the external bay. I hooked up the camera and gimbal to a 6ch D...

I still use my 9x even though I have a Taranis. Obsolete may be too strong a word. There will always be something newer and "better".

Re: Lock outs with Spektrum module
Sounds like this is in a 9XR. Did you leave the stock antenna in too? What did you use for a power supply to the module? If it works at all it's unlikely to be the code. More likely it's your module. When I built my original module (way back when) I found a spot where I could do a full power range t...

I built the DIY module using the dx5e module. It is working great and I have about 10 flights on it. What is the maximum amount of channels the dx5e module can output? I'm looking at getting some of the lemonrx recievers but the ones I am interested in are 7 channels. thanks, Brendin Only 6. But th...

HK seems to have their sights set on the Spektrum customer, rather than the Taranis customer. There is probably a much larger market there and the price difference would be more dramatic.

Re: using two different 2.4 modules simultaneously
I wanted to use 2 genuine Spektrum modules on a 9x, one internally and the other on the trainer. At the time, my understanding was that there might not be enough processing power in the 9x to handle 12 channels of Spektrum serial protocol. You could use two OrangeRX PPM modules because the module ha...

I've wondered if this was possible on a Taranis. The 9x didn't have enough power apparently to do 12 ch with two Spektrum modules.

Re: Losing Bind with Spektrum RX
Try another receiver and then check your module build carefully. Mine apparently switches between DSM2 and DSMX modes and doesn't lose bind going back and forth to Frsky. The Orange DSM module is an option. It uses PPM so no model match. There is a button on the back of the module to step through th...

Could a shorted servo or servo lead be the problem? If the ESC and BEC measure OK that might be something to check. Have you opened up the dead RX to look for a burnt component?

Re: Losing Bind with Spektrum RX
On the model setup screen you can set the receiver number. That's how model match is done. That shouldn't be your problem if you aren't switching between Spektrum receivers. Maybe it's that receiver. (You haven't left the bind plug on, right?) My DX4 based module seems to work fine. Do you have any ...

You've given each model a different receiver number right? Try binding it in DSM2 mode. I have a module also built from a DX4. Mine doesn't lose bind when everything is in DSM2 mode.
