TH9xer, couldn't you just use two, one static port and one ram air, then do the math in the processor? The static port would also give pressure altitude, eh?

Gregg, with regard to the FCC standards . . . I've never been involved in FCC testing, but we have done CE self certs. I'm thinking, as long as the RF module is unmodified and has a sticker, you are probably in the clear.

Landing gear switch mod
Most planes I've flow have a wheel on the landing gear lever, so here is one from a scrap Hot Wheels car.
Makes it very easy to find the switch.

Re: Alternatives to 9X ? seems to me not so much
JMF, the usual trouble with electronic equipment is the mechanical bits - pots, wires, switches, and soldering, so the inspection should be visual, assisted by magnification. Screws and switch holding rings should be snug. The surface mount components should be inspected to make sure they are all th...

Re: Alternatives to 9X ? seems to me not so much
Yes, the JR XP9303 is nice but is it really 5 times better than the 9X at about $600? That is what it takes, though, to beat the FlySky system. For $100-$200 you could have an experienced technician QC the 9X, add all the mods and flash the latest FW, and still have enough money left to buy the fine...

Re: Alternatives to 9X ? seems to me not so much
You may not understand the tradeoff here. The quality issue revolves around labor costs, once the design is done. If you want a high quality, low cost radio you will have to include some free labor. Yours. In the USA the burden rate of an electronics technician will approach $100 an hour. It is sort...

Just found this site with interesting capacity tests and size measurements. My trustfire cells just fit with packing tape but not with heat shrink, so maybe a smaller diameter would help?

Re: Announcing ParkeFlyer & FREE 9x LiFeP04 Battery cables
I appreciate the improved manual and have a paper copy as well as the pdf files now. I like the idea of your added tier to the supply chain of the radio system. I would hope that when you open the case to upgrade the firmware that you are also taking a good, hard look at the details of the soldering...

The RF module is working okay if you can bind them. So the PPM signal gets to the trainer port but not the RF module? How does PPM get from the board to the RF section? That is where the break would be, no?

yabbut, schlie, in real flight you are constantly adjusting trim as you go through flight phases: takeoff, climb, cruise, fuel burn, ordinance release, landing, gear, flaps extended, etc., this creates hands off or control effort = zero for ease of flying. I never feel the urge to do that trimming i...

Re: 9x Splash Screen
Seems like no one responded? First you need a bmp file for your image. It can start out any forma, size, and resolution but to burn it you need it to end up as a .bmp file, monochrome, 64 x 128 pixels. MS Paint does a fair job of getting to that point, but you'll need to do a lot of single pixel cli...
