Two Turnigy 9x radios free to a good home
I have two Turnigy 9X radios to give away. One has a Smartiparts programmer and back light. This was a NIB radio I picked up. The Smartiparts board and backlight was transferred from my older 9X. I haven't used either for years so you should consider them parts radios though both worked the last tim...

Both Suite and the Simulator seem to be slowly moving in that direction, For example, in the models menu in Suite there is a edit button that doesn't function as of now. I assume that is a feature that will come someday. Same thing in the Simulator, you are getting closer to being able to setup mode...

Re: May need help setting up a Variable Frequency Drive (VFD)
The number poles is used to calculate the rpm on the display. Important thing to set is max amps so you don't burn out the motor under load. The VFD will feed more amps to try to maintain set speed under load. Start with a slow start and slow brake. The VFD will ramp up amps to try to start/stop as ...

Adding momentary switch to Taranis X9D
I really like the momentary buttons on the back of my X20S. I find them so useful that I would like to retrofit something similar to my X9D or X9D+
Are there any unused pins on the X9D or must I use one of the existing switches or pots?
TIA

I have both an original x9d and a 2019 SE. I run Companion for each on two different computers to keep things straight. The x9d has been relegated to D-8 and Spektrum receivers.

Reverse your throttle channel. Futaba throttle is opposite just about every other brand.

Re: Old Taranis 9xd Plus
You can always use the latest Opentx firmware. But the tx and recievers also have firmware you get from Frsky and those two must match and are independent of Opentx.
You won't be able to run Archer series recievers but the "R" series should be OK.

Re: Old Taranis 9xd Plus
If you mean opentx, yes you can. It will only give you features supported in the hardware. There are limits in the Frsky firmware for the tx. To make it more complicated, recievers have to match the TX firmware. If you have older recievers there is a limit to how far you update. I have an original T...

Re: Taranis 9D upgraded and lost everything?
Do you have the models saved in Companion? If you do you can open an old version of companion and a new version of companion side by side and copy each model line by line from the old into the new. Just opening your old models in new companion will result in lots of errors. Then you can upload the m...

Set up a curve that's flat (Y=0) on x>0 side and slightly sloped on the x<0 side. The slope is the amount to add to your elevator so maybe just a few percent to start. Add a line to your elevator mix: +=IX:Rud weight (+100) Curve(CV1) "X" is your rudder input number. Use rudder input as yo...

Re: Weight or End Points?
I would use weight or custom curves depending on the situation. I usually use limits or center point changes on the servo page for physical limits to servo movement. Because there are often more than one way to do things, you should settle on your own "best practices" . It makes it easier ...

Re: How to transfer model settings between 2 radio without companion?
If you can get the files into a computer with a card reader, you should be able to load your QX7 file and copy them over to your T12 models in Companion and then save them back to the card.

Re: Cannot bind X7 with receiver X8R and S8R
The recievers and internal tx module must all have compatible firmware available from Frsky. This can be a challenge. At least for an older X9D there is no combination of tx and reciever firmwares that will run all my recievers.
These are separate from opentx.

Probably not the problem in my case. The second receiver was replaced with a multiple connector that put the wires even closer together.

I did not. I had some intermittent aileron servo jitter that was fixed when I went to a single receiver so I didn't pursue the combination further.

My own tests of this setup were glitchy. But I didn't spend too much time figuring out what the problem was. I was anxious to fly so I switched to a single X8R and a multiple connector to handle the 4 wing channels. It does not appear that this set up will work as I had hoped. Thanks for investigati...

Calibrate your ESC. Usually power up with throttle full (take your prop off). When the ESC goes into programming mode (series of beeps), zero the throttle. It should then arm.

Yes. I have the same setup and have been using it for years. It's my TX for winter indoor flying. I run ER9X but most flavors of open source software support it.

I've used two receivers bound to the same number in a plane to make connections easier. For example, one in the wing and one in the fuselage so only a power connection between the two. I was wondering if two RX6R receivers bound 1-8 telem (master) and 9-16 no telem (slave)connected via SBUS would gi...
