Re: How to enable voice function after firmware R220 upgraded
Now I'm totally confused. I have installed your latest voice zip onto my 9XRpro so now I have no numbered files so I cannot configure safety switches for channels or voice switches as there is no option to specify named files; only numbers. Do I have to create copies of the named files with number n...

Re: Reloading models after firmware upgrade
Because I had repeated the flash step several times while trying to get the model load to work, the /tmp backup had been overwritten but I still had my own backup file. I repeated the whole process from download to flash to model load and this time it worked. I have no idea what I did differently th...

Re: Reloading models after firmware upgrade
Sorry. Yesterday was not my day for numbers.
The er9x-128 version is actually 820.
(My parallel upgrade of my Pro to v220 went without a hitch.)

Reloading models after firmware upgrade
I have just upgraded my 9xr from er9x-128 v218 to v220 using eepe v422. Before upgrading, I saved my 16 model definitions to file but since upgrading, I cannot work out how to reload the models. When saving the models, I had a few issues with write errors (file not found/invalid format apparently du...

Minor glitch compiling eepe 421
My first attempt to compile eepe 421 on my Fedora box failed with messages relating to file.o. A quick check revealed that there was a version of file.o in the downloaded zip (I suspect it was 32-bit and my system is 64-bit). Deleting that file and rerunning make succeeded. (eepskye 421 compiled suc...

Re: HOW TO SET THROTTLE CUT WITH VOICE SAYING YOUR AIRCRAFT IS SAFE)
Probably a dumb question but I cannot get !THR.
If I use THR, the safety switch works but in reverse to the way described here.
How do I get !THR?
(V218)
Cheers,
Stephen

Re: Ubuntu and 9xr Pro comm issues
The SD card speed issue sounds as if it may have been the cause of my hassles with my Fedora box.
I took the easy way out and used a separate card reader to copy files to the SD card.
When you say you replaced your SD card, was it just the card or did you dig in and change the built-in reader?

Re: R218 change log
The radio is a 9XR Pro.
This issue has only been apparent since the latest upgrade to r218. Before that I only got the alarm when the stick was actually off the end and I didn't need to recalibrate: once was enough.
I'll try the soft touch.

The throttle warning has returned.
How often should it be necessary to recalibrate?
How can the Tx lose calibration?

stamp files for eepeskye (and eepe)
How does one generate stamp-eepeskye.h and stamp-eepe.h now that the code is on github?
I have had to rebuild the box on which I build eepe and eepeskye so have lost the old versions that I used to copy around.)
Cheers and thanks,
Stephen

OK. Getting close.
The last issue identified so far is that every time I turn on and/or select a model, I get the throttle warning alarm even though the stick is hard against the bottom stop.
Cheers,
Stephen

Re: R218 change log
I downloaded the voice pack for r218 and above and now have countdown voice again. Thank you. You mention moving some numbered files. Is this still necessary after installing the voice pack? If so, which files? Do I need to rename a file to turn off the initial welcome message? Which one? Any other ...

Re: R218 change log
You were correct about the channels. It was dual rate settings. However, it seems certain that the r218 upgrade is the cause of at least my timer settings changing. I had 32 models defined with TRNm as the timer starter and minute and countdown voices. All worked as expected. After flashing r218, al...

R218 change log
Is there a list of changes from r217 to r218? So far I have found that timer start, reset and voice settings have changed and that my screen goes so dark that I cannot read it outdoors. I also had to recalibrate my Tx to get equal travel in both directions on all sticks. (Not sure whether this is ne...

Re: r218 update failure
Finally made it:-)) However, to get it to work, I had to remove the micro SD from the Tx and use a USB card reader to copy the r218 file from the Linux box. All attempts to do the copy using the Tx USB connector failed in the same way as earlier attempts to flash that way. For reasons unknown, neith...

Re: r218 update failure
I just tried again with eepskye 420 and 419 and with a fresh download of r218 but without any luck. It is interesting (to me at least) that I can flash ersky9xr r217 (and previously earlier releases) without any hassle but not r218. I tried two other tests. 1. I tried to eject the tx drive but Linux...

Re: r218 update failure
I downloaded twice with eepskye and twice with Chrome browser. Same result every time. Regarding the file size, my 512K file is the backup so that is explained. Here is my latest download: -rw-rw-r-- 1 scldad scldad 221504 Feb 25 12:42 ersky9xr_rom.bin (aka 217K) The md5 checksum for the above file ...

r218 update failure
Having updated eepskye to r419 and successfully backing up firmware and EEPROM, I proceeded to flash r218 to my 9XRPro. The result was a totally garbage splash page and a strange ticking noise. Pressing Menu or Exit gave "Loading F15" or "Loading Mosquito" (two model names). Afte...

Re: File wrong size
OK. That does it. I renamed the backup to backup.bin and now I can see it and open it. Roll on r218;-) (Relying on file name endings is a very windoze thing. The magic numbers in file headers are much more general and Open Source. At least the expected file name formats should be better documented.)...

Re: File wrong size
I created dummy files with .hex and .bin endings and these appeared in the file selection window so I renamed my EEPROM backup file to backup.hex and it also appeared in the list but when I selected it for opening, nothing happened. Obviously, eepskye is looking for particular endings. What is the e...

Re: File wrong size
I tried to open the file with eepskye but the file selection menu is empty.
I tried changing the file type in the bottom right drop-down but the file list is always empty.
What is it looking for? (Yes. I am using the Linux release.)
Cheers,
Stephen

Re: File wrong size
Thanks Mike. That got me further. I can now backup EEPROM to a file without getting the file size error. The size of the backup file is now 524288 - the same size as the firmware backup. It that right? Is there any way to confirm that the backup is good apart from loading it back (and potentially za...

File wrong size
Not sure whether this is an eepskye or ersky9x issue. I have just downloaded r218 firmware to upgrade my ER9X Pro. I started the process by using eepskye (v420) to save a copy of the current firmware (r217 11/4/15). This worked as expected. I then tried to backup my EEPROM settings. The transfer sta...

Re: Model copy failing
Deleting models 26 to 32 did reset the right-hand column in the memory stats to zero. It also made the restore option appear in the menu and work and the copy to model 25 now works too:-)) I guess we'll never know why all the "empty" slots had 686 rather than zero. (If that column is model...
