Re: ERSKY9x Questions
Comparing the spec sheets makes it look like it would work ( I did see a different voltage limit in one section), but the turn off for me was that this is a transmissive panel instead of a transflective panel. I think I'll just use the stock lcd until the transflective units are back in stock. Trans...

Re: ERSKY9x Questions
Speaking of these LCD's..... Does anyone know how back orders work with Digi-key? I've never ordered from them when the item is not in stock so I'm kind of waffling about ordering now.... Unfortunately, I was unsuccessful in finding a dealer with the panels in stock... I tried the usual search engin...

Neither warehouse ships outside the country it's in....
Oh well, it will become a moot point in a matter of hours, there's only 4 left in the US warehouse... they won't last long.

Re: Printed Circuit Board Soldering / Testing
I just ran across this soldering station yesterday on Hobby King. I even spent a good 1/2 hr with HK live support trying to get one but alas.... I live in Canada and it's only available from the USA and AUS warehouse as it has been discontinued. I cannot order from the USA. :( http://www.hobbyking.c...

Re: Printed Circuit Board Soldering / Testing
The standard by which all others are judged is the Fluke 87V. It's not the *best* meter out there, there are others with more features or wider ranges, more digits etc. etc. but invariably, the 87V is what most of us compare to. The Fluke 87 has been around for a while.... the 87, 87 III and the the...

Re: Printed Circuit Board Soldering / Testing
I can highly recommend the videos over at the EEVblog. Dave has done a 3 part soldering tutorial, and his $50 and $100 Multimeter shootouts are priceless. Even better yet, Dave is currently working on a quadcopter project and he's chosen the 9x radio.... only a matter of time before he starts hackin...

Re: ERSKY9x Questions
Links and part numbers for the additional stuff, such as the alternate LCD and Bluetooth module etc. could be added to the sticky.
Looking at the changed LCD, I don't see a connector on the ribbon cable so I'm assuming the user would have to install one, and if so, which one?

Home page needed?
I notice that when I go to http://www.openrcforums.com, I get dumped into the forum as there is no main home page. I realize that Rob has just started this project and probably has not had time to make one yet, but I do think it's needed. I would suggest that prominent links to the google pages for ...

Re: Suggestion
Regarding the eePe area.... I just went to post a message and I had no way of starting a new topic? I suspect it's just a quirk and that Rob needs to do something to make it possible..... Just thought I'd mention it.

Re: Suggestion
Thanks Rob! I was just over on RCgroups and see people are leaving pointers to move over here which is great. I would like to suggest however that an archive of the RCgroups 1000+ page discussion be place somewhere on this forum, either as a locked down thread or perhaps as a downloadable file?!?! I...

Suggestion
Thanks for making this new forum available Rob! The only thing missing that I can see is a separate area for discussing/using eepe. It is so useful for editing models and of course uploading and downloading files from the radio, that it really deserves its own topic. I also have some suggestions for...
