Re: ArduVoice-9x Voice Module with Arduino for the 9x Radio
Hi Taipan, As it turns out the document I found is actually for the 9XR Pro with Ersky 9x software. But there are a lot of similarities between the two. However if you look at the bottom of any of Joao's posts he has a link there to his videos and there you can watch 3 videos he made that show you h...

Re: ArduVoice-9x Voice Module with Arduino for the 9x Radio
Yes I have watched your videos a couple of time now. I used the one about telemetry to set up my sailplane to tell me the altitude. I do have a couple of questions if you don't mind. Is there a way to set up the telemetry so that the voice only announces the altitude if it changes a certain amount. ...

Re: ArduVoice-9x Voice Module with Arduino for the 9x Radio
I know the welcome voice file is on the list because I saw it. I will check the wave files and see if it is actually there. I have them stored on my PC so it will be easy to check. I did check the polarity of the back light and it is correct. I even tried it the other way and still no back light. As...

Re: ArduVoice-9x Voice Module with Arduino for the 9x Radio
Thanks for all your help Joao! I do have the Atmega64 so I don't have that option. I found the problem with the voice. When I soldered the wire going to my speaker to the strip board I accidentally unsoldered one leg of the output capacitor. When I resoldered that I got my beeps. Also when I turned ...

Re: ArduVoice-9x Voice Module with Arduino for the 9x Radio
Hi again Joao, Sorry for the slow response. I got involved with some family things that had to be done. The voice file I used was Sharon. I took the micro SD card out of my card reader and put it in my PC. The voice wave files are in the root file of the micro SD card. I also tried playing several o...

Re: ArduVoice-9x Voice Module with Arduino for the 9x Radio
Hi Joao, Yes I built the one board version using the Atmega 328P with pins 4 and 5 inside the other pins. I have made some small progress. I have discovered with my setup that if I install the test version of the firmware then I cannot flash anything after that. I keep getting a no sync error. Howev...

Re: ArduVoice-9x Voice Module with Arduino for the 9x Radio
Hi Joao, Well I finally got some time to look at my transmitter again. It appears NOTHING connected to the Arduvoice board is working. No backlight, no sound and the trim switches also are not working. I did notice that the LED on the Atmega board that is used for the blinky program was coming on ab...

Re: ArduVoice-9x Voice Module with Arduino for the 9x Radio
I found my problem. When I put the motherboard back in place the menu and exit push buttons were not properly in place. So when I turned the radio on they were being held on and causing the problem. I fixed that and now the radio powers up normally. Tomorrow I will see if I can actually get it to ta...

Re: ArduVoice-9x Voice Module with Arduino for the 9x Radio
Help please. I got the voice module built and before I installed it in the transmitter I installed the optiboot loader and the test firmware. With the test firmware I saw a LED I had connected in place of the back light flashing. I did NOT hear any sound from my speaker that I thought I was supposed...

Re: converting models from OpenTX to er9x
Hi Joao, I successfully changed my 9x OpenTx radio to er9x. I have found some things I really like about the er9x firmware. The first thing I noticed was that when setting up my models once I go to the model setup page I can then jump directly to the page I want to work on instead of having to scrol...

Re: converting models from OpenTX to er9x
Thanks. I was planning to save them first in companion. But after a lot of reading I understand I need to use eepe to reprogram my radio with er9x. Being able to open them later in companion to see how each one was set up is a good idea. I was only thinking about using companion if I had to go back ...

converting models from OpenTX to er9x
I have decided to build the ArduVoice project that jhsa and MikeB designed a few years back. To use the voice board they designed I will have to change my firmware to er9x. I have been using OpenTX for several years now and have several models set up on my OpenTX transmitter. If I backup my models u...

Re: ArduVoice-9x Voice Module with Arduino for the 9x Radio
I have read all of this thread a couple of times now. I now understand what you meant about connecting to pins 27 and 28. I have ordered the atmega board, the micro sd card reader and the FTDI usb to serial adapter. Now I need to see how much of the other parts I already have on hand in my electroni...

Re: ArduVoice-9x Voice Module with Arduino for the 9x Radio
Hi Joao, I have read over several pages of this thread. I believe I can pretty easily build the ArduVoice module as I have over 50 years experience in electronics. My question is how would I connect the module to my radio as I already have the SmartieParts board installed and a Sparkfun interface be...

Jumper wires?
This may be the wrong place to ask this but I found some jumpers when looking at a mod done to my transmitter before I got it. It has a Smartieparts board rev 2.1 installed and a Sparkfun board as an interface between the hardwire FrSky DHT module and the Smartieparts board. I was reading the instal...

Re: Audio for Turnigy TGY 9X?
Well I have done some more research and opened up my transmitter to see what is in it. I bought it used and did not do the mods myself. I found it has the Smartiparts board rev 2.1 installed with the back light mod and of course the usb programming adapter. I also found there is a small Sparkfun boa...

Audio for Turnigy TGY 9X?
I realize this has probably been discussed several times but I can't seem to find what I want to know. I have spent a couple of days online looking for any answer. I am trying to find out how to add audio to my TGY 9X. I have found some different ways of doing it by adding some boards to the transmi...

Re: Companion 9x not finding programmer
Thanks for all the help. I connected an adapter cable from regular USB to mini USB and then tried Companion 9x again and everything seems to be working. I was able to download my models to Companion. I have another problem I need to work on but it has to do with my learning how to do mixing right. I...

Re: Companion 9x not finding programmer
OK that makes sense. However the USBASP programmers I have seen in the Wiki and some threads all have a six pin rectangular connector for the transmitter end. My transmitter was modified by the previous owner and only has a small (mini?) USB connector inside the battery compartment. He installed the...

Companion 9x not finding programmer
I am new to this idea of being able to program my transmitter so I am probably doing something wrong. I have the latest version of Companion 9x installed on my computer. I am running Windows 7. I have a Silicon Labs CP210x programmer. I have downloaded the driver for that programmer. Device manager ...
