Re: Twin setup - Delta Ray

HI,
You wrote: "set the limits on all channels 1 through 6 to 80%". I'm not sure where to do this... On the Inputs page or the Mixes page? I have not done this, but defaulted the the usual 100% on both pages. Seems to work OK... Is this an issue?

Re: Twin setup - Delta Ray

Hi, Anyone have any additional info on how to configure the Taranis to fly the Delta Ray? Not only does it have differential thrust (I think I have that sorted), but I also need to activate the three modes available in the AS3X onboard controller. The DX4e transmitter is sending SOMETHING to the AS3...

Re: ANOTHER failure to flash issue

You're right... I just went through some horrible moments of thinking that I had made a mistake in committing to the Taranis (especially since no-one else at the RC field has one). But now that the PC and the TX are talking, all is well with my soul. I'm exploring logical switches, special finctions...

Re: My own voices won't be played by Taranis

HI. Yep. Figured both of these options out. I was just a little confused by the fact that even though the sound files play in Companion, they do not get transferred to the radio when the model is downloaded to it. But moving them to the radio via the PC file system is easy enough. I have everything ...

Re: WAV files for Taranis

Hi, Just to say that Scott's new video on sound file creation is great. Very helpful. One thing he didn't mention, however, and which had me scratching my head for a while is that fact that one has to put the radio into bootloader mode before you can do what he suggests. Otherwise the radio doesn't ...

Re: My own voices won't be played by Taranis

Hi again,
I've taken a look in the SD card on the TX, and the only folders that have anything in them are the BMP and SOUND folders. Nothing in Firmwares or logs or Models. Is this usual?

Re: My own voices won't be played by Taranis

OK, found the folder structure on the TX. Some great (and funny) sounds. But I can't figure out how to put my sounds in there - or how to grab those sounds and play with them in Companion.

I'm making progress, but any help would be appreciated.

Re: My own voices won't be played by Taranis

Also, is there a default file structure for the SD card? I seem to remember reading that there is, but i can't remember what it was. Perhaps that's why the sounds aren't playing - I've put them in the wrong place?

Re: My own voices won't be played by Taranis

Hi, This is an old thread, but why create a new one when my question is identical to the one in the thread title? Essentially, I have recorded custom sound files with Audacity v 2.0.5 (32000Hz, mono, file names 8 chars). However, when I come to save the files, I am not given the 16 bit Microsoft, mu...

Success at last!

Hi guys, I finally did it! I loaded OpenTX Companion v2.0.8 onto my old computer (about five years old). Ran the standard scenario of making sure STM32 Bootloader was installed, the TX was off and then I switched the TX on while holding both horisontal trims inwards. The TX went into update mode. I ...

Re: ANOTHER failure to flash issue

I'll have another go tomorrow morning as you suggest. I've checked the radio, and my TX has the following version on it:
Opentx-x9d-v1.1.02

Is that very old?

Here is a screenshot showing the STM32 driver registered by Win8. This appears when the TX is switched OFF but attached to the PC by USB cable.

Re: ANOTHER failure to flash issue

It's clearly a driver problem, could you please follow the advices in this discussion http://openrcforums.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=94&t=5663#p81711. I've done this. Plus the reboots in between steps. No difference. I am going to try to find an old XT machine and see how I get on there. Duncan

Re: Sv: ANOTHER failure to flash issue

To repeat what was said previously: You have to first replace the firmware of the radio before you can use Companion for anything. Without doing so, Companion is of no use whatsoever to you. You can not even use it for model simulation, since the model configuration is quite different to the config...

Re: ANOTHER failure to flash issue

Hi guys, Well, I have now tried everything - including copying my OpenTX Companion model file directly to the SD card on the TX. It won't copy, because it is 78Kb on the laptop, but needs to be only 32kb on the TX. I guess there is some fancy crunching which goes on when the model image is transferr...

Re: ANOTHER failure to flash issue

Tried both. Removing the Orange RX module makes no difference. Neither does downloading OpenTX Companion onto wife's PC (also running Zadig, to get STM32 bootloader installed. Re: ANOTHER failure to flash issue

I ran a screen capture utility (Snagit) to record what happens, and a single frame shows the flitting dialogue which pops up. Nothing dramatic. It just says "DFU util - write firmware to radio". But there is no progress bar. I'm off to try this on my wife's computer - maybe that will help....

Re: ANOTHER failure to flash issue

OK - it appears that the laptop only "sees" the STM32 bootloader when the TX is plugged into it. Sounds a bit weird, but that what seems to be the case. So my TX is switched off, and connected to the laptop with the USB cable. The OpenTX University says: "You use OpenTX Companion to s...

HI, OK - here's what I've got: I've backed up the EEPROM on the radio and stored it on my laptop STM32 Bootloader is showing up in Zadig_2.1.0 http://1drv.ms/1r86UyV This shows up in my device manager also, however, as "STM device in DFU mode" - is this OK? I'm running v2.0.8 of the OpenTX...

Re: ANOTHER failure to flash issue

THIS is the problem with open source stuff. It is cheap, but is plagued by random issues. I've tried v1.52 of Companion, but it doesn't support some of the entries I have programmed in the 2.0.8 version. So I accepted the invitation to upgrade to v2.0 That at least sees my 2.0.8 model configs, but i...

Sigh... I have downgraded to Companion 1.5. Don't you guys talk to each other? For someone like me who is just an end-user, this is most frustrating.
