khewl thanks for the info, I have the leadershobby tx and it came with the Gen1 board ( i use "generation" to distinguish from "version" so I can keep myself a bit less confused  ) I looked on the module itself and it is indicated "Fky Sky 2.4GMHz Module MODEL: FS-TMOO2...

Re: 9x radio v1 or v2

I read on the smartieparts site that the "A" version board was a mistake with the misplacement of the pad location. Is this true?

How can you determine if you have a TM001 or 2?

Re: Protect Fuses to stop settings being wiped on firmware u

o.k. do I get this right?
"Fuse" means to "fuse" or permanently attach code so to speak to the tx. So that it is write protected when you flash your tx. I assume the reason for this is to keep all your settings and models while updating the firmware?
... or something?

You should also note that there are 2 "generations" of the printed circuit board as well in these radios. So far I can't tell how to guarantee you'll get the gen2 one. It's only an issue if you want to mod the radio. You can read about it here... http://www.smartieparts.com/shop/index.php?...

If you have a Gen 1 board, one alternative to the soldering point for the wire instead of here on the end of the resistor... http://www.openrcforums.com/forum/download/file.php?id=30 ...Is to solder on the trace between the resistor and the pin. This might reduce the chance of cooking that resistor ...
