Re: My Taranis Spektrum module
Wow, I've been away a while haven't I? It's really humbling to see how this little project has mushroomed into something very practical and reasonably easy for people to do. Many thanks to JP and all others for all the amazing effort, and taking this to places that I'm just not capable of. When I un...

Re: OpenTX - Nightly builds for pre-2.0 testing
OK thanks, I'll find them.
So it's expected that I'll need to switch the alarm settings from A1 to Rx Volts? That's fine.

Re: OpenTX - Nightly builds for pre-2.0 testing
Is this the place for V2.0 questions? I've upgraded now I've been prompted by companion9X. All went extremely well. Many thanks. Question now though, using X series Rx's - Rx volts used to be reported as A1 Volts. Now though, after eepe conversion, I'm having to set A1 to unused and put in new Rx vo...

Re: My Taranis Spektrum module
The one thing I have found, is that if I've been flying with one model using internal FrSky RF, then select a model that uses the Spektrum module, the Spektrum Rx does not respond at all. However if I select the Spektrum model memory, then switch Tx off and on again, it all fires up fine and is stil...

Re: Vario upgrade problems
I have applied to upgrade to both types and it helps with both.
I believe (don't know for sure) that the only difference between the two is in the quality of the pressure sensor chip.

Re: My Taranis Spektrum module
Thanks.
So, If I bind with DSMX, then just happen to work on another model, when I save the eeprom back to the Tx and that action changes it to LP45. Am I in a short range mode?

Re: My Taranis Spektrum module
Does anyone know if an old Dx6i "DSM2 only" module would work for this mod. Obviously DSMX wouldn't be available. Also: does anyone know why with my Dx4e module, I select DSMX and bind OK. But if I open the model in C9X and save it back to the Tx, the protocol shown is LP45?. And what on e...

Re: Vario upgrade problems
Great many thanks. It's worth persevering with then next time I need it. I'll certainly download the USB driver again. I did have a java update popping up around the same time, and probably lots of Chrome tabs open and an email client. I wasn't doing anything else manually on the PC though. PS Has a...

Vario upgrade problems
Hi I've upgraded two FrSky Varios today but had some problems along the way. The big issue being around half way through the download to the vario, I had the dreaded BSOD on the PC a number of times. Each time this left the Vario not working of course. By persisting, I succeeded by switching to anot...

Re: Taranis and flight simulators
Scratch the above question. The answer is that in slave mode, the number of channels can be selected and the default seems to be 8.
What I'd done, is calibrated only 4 channels in PhoenixRC-4. Re-calibrating all 8 channels fixed it for me.

Re: Taranis and flight simulators
I have Taranis working very well with Phoenix. But I can only see how to use 4 channels.
Is it possible to use 8 channels? Phoenix will accept flaps, gear, bomb drop and wheel brakes etc.

Re: Spektrum sti module ?
I can't make the STi module work with a Dx5e module in a Taranis, and an AR8000 Rx and TM1000 combination.
I believe that it needs some input from a telemetry enabled Spektrum transmitter. But I'd really, really like to be proved wrong.
Has anyone actually got this working?

Re: My Taranis Spektrum module
So is that something I can do then? I'm really quite new to all this, OpenTX and everything. I find it such an amazing resource, and I'm still getting my head around the amount of collaboration. I'd really like to give something back, even though it's pretty small. Just now, I don't know where to st...

Re: Taranis and DSM2 mods
I noticed a potential problem with Companion 1.52 and OpenTX 2923. In Companion9x with LP45 or DSMX, you get the message "EEprom saved with these warnings: opentx doesn't accept this protocol" when you attempt to simulate from the 'edit model' screen. If you setup a model using dsmx on th...

Re: My Taranis Spektrum module
Update - I've flown with mine. I gave up on the range check at around 40 paces. Then flew an EPP flying wing (just in case 'cos this one bounces). No need to worry though, ever increasing circuits had it up to a height where I could only just see orientation. No issues whatsoever :) This was with an...

Re: My Taranis Spektrum module
Right, just had a measure.
With a 2S LiFe connected to BAT and GND, the capacitor that you've marked reads 4.2V, as does the one below it.
However the one top left, has 3.3V across it.

Hi
I've made a module for my Taranis that works nicely See this thread
I've left all unused pins on the 5 pin Taranis connector, and the Dx4e module, floating. Is this OK?

Re: My Taranis Spektrum module
Thanks Flaps. Just running a little short of time, so I'll post some pertinent facts. The idea obviously is to make a module that uses native Spektrum serial data, allows in software choice od DSM2 or DSMX and has model match. I've used the circuit from 9x_Full_Mod_DSM2/X The RF module is from a DX4...
