companion9x update
Hi Guys, when I open companion9x its saying that there is an update, to update do I need to download the whole program for my iMac or is there another way of just updating the version I currently have? I'm on v1.48 and I assume I need v1.51 here? http://code.google.com/p/companion9x/downloads/detail...

twin servo ailerons - Expo screen
Sorry guys I'm having a mental block, I'm setting up my first twin aileron plane, should I have L Ail and R Ail in the DR/Expo screen as I just have AIL at the moment? Does the expo I put on AIL apply to both Aileron servos?
sorry if this seems a bit of a bone question…….

Re: Setting fail safe to Guardian level flight mode
Thanks Kilrah, it's all making sense now. The stabiliser 2d wing levelling mode is on ch5 so I guess I just need to program ch5 in the fail safe. The only issue I have now is I'm using a V8R7-II so i cant set it using companion so I'll set the fail safe as per the v8r7-II instructions. The fog is cl...

Re: Setting fail safe to Guardian level flight mode
Ah right, so I can set the motor to go to off and set all channels to do 'something' but not make the plane go to a switch position, ie the stabiliser level flight switch? That's a shame as the plane would 'land' as opposed to crash. Oh well, never mind, just a thought, thanks anyway.......

Setting fail safe to Guardian level flight mode
Wonder if anyone could help. I'm trying to figure out how to make my plane do this: If RSSI is lost = throttle to zero and switch to Guardian 2d level flight mode. Guardian 2d level flight mode is on switch SEv. I'm still learning open TX on the Taranis and I can't figure out how to do this, I assum...

Sorry rob, I don't understand, are you saying this will not work with taranis or do I need to change a setting?
Thanks for your help mate.

Re: Low RSSI
I went to the airfield last evening with my lad to do a physical range test. With my lad holding to plane above his head I drove with the TX down the runway stopping every 200m, getting away from the car and checking the RSSI, all was well up to .7 of a mile (distance recorded on iPhone). At that di...

Re: Low RSSI
I thought I would contact FrSky direct to see if they had seen any issues regarding this RSSI issue, I explained I had been getting RSSI low and critical warnings with the plane close, this was the response: From Allen Gue (frsky) Hi Barry, thanks for contact FrSky. Did you put the antenna out of fu...

Re: Low RSSI
There are lots of factors that could cause an rf message warning. In my example, I only have a warning at the one site. Never at others. In your case, if you get then all the time - then you should investigate. Receiver leads OK? Tried changing the receiver? What's the model made of? Etc.. Possible...

Re: Low RSSI
I have found it much more sensitive. But also very location dependent. Last week - I was flying an FPV model at a new site. I was getting constant rssi warnings at about 200m. Same model at my normal site will go 500 with no warnings! The other pilot had his quad kick into fail safe a few times at ...

Re: Low RSSI
I get this as well (taranis and x8r) only a few flights and low and critical RSSI warnings with the plane within 100m, the plane is just a foamy trainer. I did a range test and found I got better RSSI with the taranis antenna pointing straight up but if I moved the rx away from pointing at the plane...

X8R issues
After I got a few low RSSI warnings yesterday when the plane was very close I thought I would do a range check. The instructions say press the f/s button for 4 seconds and the red light will be off (it was never on!) and the green light will flash, it doesent, it flashes twice then goes solid green,...

Re: Eagletree Guardian - disable DR and expo in 2d mode
Yep, that worked perfectly today, thanks again. First time I have used the Taranis and Strangely, I was getting RSSI warnings and the plane was about 100 yards in front of me (xr8 rx), that was a bit worrying, why would that happen? (Plane is a foamie trainer) I had the TX antenna off to the side pa...

XR8 rx telemetary sensors
I don't have much room in my plane now I have eagletree guardian fitted, the last thing I'm really after is a telematry lipo power pack low voltage warning (3s).
Am I right in thinking that the frsky FBVS-01 will do what I'm after and it will plug into the xr8 and give the telemetry I'm after?

Agreed, very strange!jhsa wrote:Strange that a google search didn't return anything about programming those ESCs
why would they not want that people know how to do it? It should be included within the model's manual anyway
