Re: v959 camera hacking
Yeah, the arduino is completely optional - I mainly did it to experience both aspects of hacking the camera.

Re: v959 camera hacking
Apologies for the absence - I've been rather busy with work and home life recently and other RC projects - I'm fairly sure you could do it with a pull-down circuit triggered by an RC channel somehow - but I'm not really an electronics expert - I know just enough to be dangerous with my Arduino proje...

Re: Regarding USBasp from HK
I'm not worthy  :geek: :ugeek: I just copied and pasted what I read on the (old) product page at HK. Thanks for the feedback. It's good to know it worked. So after you set the fuses then you had to flash the 2009 version of usbasp firmware to the device, right ? Yep. Kinda glad I got a differ...

Re: FlySky TH9X - what lightweight receifer?
I have a original FlySky TH9X radio controll and I'm searching for a lightweight receifer (below 5 g). Is there anything compatible? http://www.giantshark.co.uk/flysky-24ghz-channel-receiver-fsr6b-p-406153.html This is the smallest rx that I am aware of. The page says 25g, but I cant see how it wei...

Re: er9x with V959 quadcopter
Yeah v959 mine still does that when I try to bind/fly with the 9x - tbh, I don't bother much any more - I only play with it once every couple of weeks and my brain seems OK with flipping to mode 2 with it

Re: er9x with V959 quadcopter
G'day Ted, Thanks for that - at some stage I must have done some tinkering as last time I tried it a few weeks ago with the 9x, I was able to fly the 959 quite OK with it. But to be honest, I'm used to flying it mode 2 now, while still flying mode 1 for my planes. I'm going to be really confused in ...

Re: v959 camera hacking
The attiny45 runs on the 5v input from the receiver but as Kilrah suggested above it doesn't need to convert to 3.3v to switch the camera on and off - it simply drives the output to the camera's video control line low for 250ms to trigger the video to start and stop, but returns the output to an inp...

Re: Servo Tester - Read Receiver Pulses with Arduino
João, with the servo tester idea - is the pulseIn Arduino method any use to you? I was able to detect values 1400-1900 on my gear channel, for example, using the attiny45 - not sure I understand the complexity of this yet

Re: Arduino, easy to build
The Arduino is an excellent platform. I used my Uno as an ISP to program a little sketch on an AtTiny45 tonight - very simple and quite effective! details: viewtopic.php?f=84&t=2897

Re: Returning to the hobby
Thanks Mike - I'll save my pennies and make sure to grab on before I do any lasting damage to my Golf's battery :) Meanwhile I've been frugal and re-cycled a video camera from a toy quadcopter for use in my Bixler - I had to hack together a r/c circuit to trigger the camera - but that was half the f...

Re: v959 camera hacking
Phew, that was hard work! Soldering wires to the end of the molex male socket was a pain in the you-know-what. The ones I got were meant for surface mount boards, so I had to gently bend the bottom lugs up into little pins jutting out from the bottom of the connector - I then used the ends of some b...

Re: v959 camera hacking
I didn't realize how small these connectors would be - soldering them to some test leads so I could breadboard the prototype on the attiny45 was a nightmare! My eyesight isn't that good - and even with a magnifying glass, I was struggling. Thankfully, the trusty Multimeter confirmed that there was n...

Re: Servo Tester - Read Receiver Pulses with Arduino
I got my Arduino Uno to read pulses from my RX channel 8 using pulseIn() and detct the difference between on/off on my gear switch. Not sure what that means in terms of accuracy but given the number of Arduino based flight controllers, I suspect it is a good start

Re: Temperature Sensor
Update.. sensors on the way huurraaah.. they were difficult to find.. I guess because they only measure positive temperature.. 5 to 100 degrees. can go up to 150 with reduced accuracy and 2.5V output at 150 degrees which might not be too bad.. Now for voice, Mike, would it be possible to choose the...
