Re: Taranis Gimals in a 9X
Thanks. It actually started from this thread: http://openrcforums.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=8 I joined the party on page 4 and then Scott advises me through the process. It did come out good and is a conversation piece for sure. Sorry to say that the lens is the original with a new sticker ...

Re: Taranis Gimals in a 9X
First off I want to thank everyone that offered suggestions to help resolve my "flashing" issue, especially MikeB who pounded away at this to proof a working solution. However, as mentioned I'm more of a physical "see it in my hands" type person and getting it to work on my end e...

Re: Taranis Gimals in a 9X
Alright, something must be happening. One thing I forgot to mention is that when I try to write eprom to Tx the top 2 check boxes were greyed out in openTXcompanion during all of this. While I still had the bad eprom data, for whatever reason going this route the top 2 boxes were available. As well ...

Re: Taranis Gimals in a 9X
I to get a bad eprom data error when I go from R2940 to 2.0.15 as well. I also get another one when I go back to R2940. However, the models and setting push back to the Tx in companion9x R2940 but I only get a blank model 01 and nothing else with openTX 2.0.15. on a side...I'm doing this on an old s...

Re: Taranis Gimals in a 9X
That means, after step 3a when you click the Yes button, nothing happens? Can you retry the same procedure but read and write everything with eePe ? Reinhard After step 3a I click yes and it goes through a couple of "are you sure" / yes...and then it beeps a couple of times...bad eprom me...

Re: Taranis Gimals in a 9X
I do get the bad eprom data error when going between comp9x and openTX, but I've just "hit" enter and moved past it. As well this starts from another session of a good, working R2940 companion9x. 1. opened openTXcompanion and did "Backup Radio to File" 2. then did "Write Fir...

Re: Taranis Gimals in a 9X
Thanks...on a side, I've tried to find a variable list but am having trouble finding one. I've used -V and -D in the past but do not remember why or what they were for and now I know NOT to use -F unless I am 100% sure I need to (which means I will not use it), but are there any others and if so, wh...

Re: Taranis Gimals in a 9X
Thank you very much...I will make a note now to check and remove if it still exists. Strange though that through one of the error messages it recommends to use the -F variable.

Re: Taranis Gimals in a 9X
First off guys, thanks for the quick responses. OK, I will look at it when I get back to the house this evening. I've seen the backup function but have not tried anything with it yet. I did have to use the variables -V -D for some reason in the past, although I can't remember what they did. And when...

Re: Taranis Gimals in a 9X
Another possibility is to read the EEPROM from the radio and also open your .eepe file, then drag and drop your models from the one to the other, then write it back. Mike. I tried this doing a drag-n-drop in both directions with no change...I am still at Model 01 and none of my models and setting t...

Re: Taranis Gimals in a 9X
Yes, it all works under companion9x. I then open openTXcompanion and the first thing I do is read the models and settings from the radio and then I saved that as opentx.eepe. I then write the new firmware (no issues) and then try to write the opentx.eepe to the radio (issue). Although I have not tri...

Re: Taranis Gimals in a 9X
Since I'm a mechanical designer, the quote fits no matter if the source is correct or not ;) . Although, what I have an issue with is not mechanical, but rather a software side problem in that I can get the firmware installed but my models will not come across...it goes through the green "read&...

Re: Taranis Gimals in a 9X
I have a gimbal that is out and I am in need of a replacement and came here first. I just knew you guys would think of something, being crafty and all. I’m pretty good with hardware, but the software side eludes me and I’m in need of assistance… I have been running open9x R2940 as I’ve had no reason...

more than 2 rates?
Turnigy9X (FlySky module) flashed Open9X r-2168 Can I have more than 2 rates? Of course we have 3 DR/Expo switches. Does it have to be 0/1 for each of the 3 surfaces or can it be all 3 at 0=high rate for all surfaces - say elev-1=mid rate for all 3 surfaces - ail-1=low rate for all surfaces - rud-1=...

this is my first work with my 9x, even I missing details, the technique is the following link, you use an inkjet printer http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Retail-33-cm-width-water-transfer-printing-PVA-film-paper/631956005.html The hydro transfer looks extremely cool. I was happy with my swirl paint.....

Re: Custom Spray
Great job on the labels Scott...and yes, you should sell them. When I did mine I had to buy a 3 run set so I had 2 left over. After the Tx hit the field the other 2 were gone...1 sold and 1 is going to a buddy's TX that got me in the air. I like how you've changed the color to suite the TX colors......

Re: Custom Spray
Bad thing about a "one shot" pattern is that one can not really practice to uncover issues that might crop up. However, I agree, any "mistakes" make the end product even more "yours". Something one does with their own hands and that's cool. I like the pattern myself and...

Re: Custom Spray
Didn't I read that you're suppose to spray over primer after a short amount of time? I used to think that I needed to let primer dry and cure like paint. But the opposite it true? Read the direction on the can. Nice work everyone. Keep sharing those photos. As with most paint one either applies mut...

Re: Custom Spray
Thanks. I looked around for different colored switch covers and found a couple of manufacturers that produced/sold them in different colors and the least amount was a bag run of 800 per color for just shy of $20 per bag. When one wants several colors it looked to get expensive quick since I could no...

Re: Button replacements
If you're just trying to muffle the sound I read somewhere that one used the foam from the origional LCD that had to be removed while doing a backlight mod to cut a small ring that fit around the switch. They claimed that it not only muffled the sound quite a bit but it also helped "pop" t...

Like the silver terabyte...looks like a metal case. On the gloss...gloss is easy, it just requires a bit more work to get the finish smooth so one can get that really bad-a$$ finish. There is a reason the guitar guys are willing to pay $5-600+ for the finish. I was going to do the gloss before I fle...

Hey Justin' great job! I really like the color combination you used and the definition looks great. Although I like the one on the right as well. Re: Custom Spray
I used Borax on a couple of the test runs and you're correct, it does help "float" the paint. Also thinning the paint accomplishes the same as well as making the paint go further. Although if the paint is thinned too much it has a tendancy to blend together and lose the definition to the c...
