Re: "Flip" button on Syma X1/WLToys v949
By jove lads it works !! Ditched the level converters they just made a nasty mess of my signals, used resistors and a dynamic floating/pull down resistor for the bi-directional pin. The solution uses an ATMega328 @ 16Mhz, 6 resistors, the RF module from my Twister Quad transmitter, 2 regulators (3.3...

It's all looking good, still ironing the bugs out but it IS going to be possible.

Re: "Flip" button on Syma X1/WLToys v949
Ok, a little update. I have taken the FlySky code from https://bitbucket.org/PhracturedBlue/deviation/src and written a wrapper for it so it works on an AVR as a PPM to A7105 SPI convertor. I have more or less used the deviation code verbatim, this way it's easy to update any changes and deviation c...

Re: "Flip" button on Syma X1/WLToys v949
Awesome. Just what I was looking for. Looks like the ATTiny will do 4 bit transfers, however I suspect these 4bit transfers will be a red herring. The JPerkins Twister Quad uses the same transceiver so reading the A7105 datasheet will tell. Might have a go at it tomorrow if time allows. Out of inter...

Re: "Flip" button on Syma X1/WLToys v949
I to have one of the Perkins Twister Quads, right enough it works fine on the original FlySky module, but as previously stated the extra function (LEDs in this case) will not work. Attached is a Saleae Logic session grabbed from the quads transmitter. You can view the file just by grabbing Saleae Lo...

I know this has already been answered on the gruvin9x Google Group but I have copied here for others: Hi, To make the gruvin9x board talk you need the addition of a second board. One of these in fact: http://www.4dsystems.com.au/prod.php?id=73 Pictures for the install can be found here: http://www.t...

Re: Gruvin Board and Voice Mod again
Waytronic (the chip manufacturer) uses 50uS min setup in their examples. Even though the 1uS setup works with your module, I recommend following Waytronic's examples. Cheers, but I meant the Waytronic datasheet. No doubt I could find it online but I wanted to be singing from the same datasheet as y...

Re: Gruvin Board and Voice Mod again
Hex attached with startbit now correctly @ 2ms. If we can try this first before we start stretching the setup time, as that is going to mean delays and I would rather avoid them. 1us setup delay is still in this hex.

Re: Gruvin Board and Voice Mod again
Right got it. Leave the timing with me and I will scrutinize it. Thanks for taking the time to find the various timing thresholds to ! I doubt your SOMO is faulty now, it just sounds like they have a bit of variance, hopefully the changes will be such I can commit them to the trunk so you don't have...

Re: Gruvin Board and Voice Mod again
I have the speech counting reliably from 1 to 100 on the test rig. The only change I have made is to not using resistive dividers between the micro (operating at 5v) and the voice module but just a series resistor of 330R. Little confused (probably missed an earlier post I guess), have you got seri...

Re: Gruvin Board and Voice Mod again
I have unpacked enough stuff to flash my radio and sorry to say the code works on my system to. I do know the SOMOs are quite picky on the memory card they will work with, but from reading previous posts you have had it working so that kinda rules that out. For reference I am using a DaneElec 2Gb ca...

Re: Gruvin Board and Voice Mod again
Tell me what options you are running and i'll compile it for you. Just popping out now for a couple of hours but I'll write a how to later. Don't think there is much to it to be honest, just use winAVR gives slightly larger code than the current avr-gcc but still works fine.

Re: Gruvin Board and Voice Mod again
The delay is there it's just very small 250ns I think, the time for one instruction to execute. I hate adding delays into ISR routines so I tested it without, when it worked I left the delay out. The data is clocked in at around half the max data rate the SOMO will handle, I did this just to lessen ...

Re: No Voice on Gruvin pcb
D7 is the correct one to use for haptic.
H7 is an option selectable via jumper J4, it would allow PWM control over the motor but it's never been coded for so it remains an unused option.
Have you seen the archive of photos Bertrand mentioned. http://www.th9x.com/g9x_v4_mods.zip

Kilrah: OK I understand the distinction you were making and this is what I would normally do if going from scratch, but the other day I found myself in a hurry so I copied a model over, ailerons needed reversing, went straight for the "reverse the stick feature", it wasn't there so instead...

Re: A couple of suggestions
The first idea comes from a feature that exists on the Multiplex Evo and a real need that I had the other day. Multiplex class Dual Rates, Expo, and reverse under the banner of stick calibration. It is separate to servo calibration (which also exists). Imagine you have an aircraft with a four surfac...

BMP085 is no good for airspeed, it's an absolute sensor and has no ports for tubing, unless someone know different. I would love to see a BMP085 type device for this task.

Air Speed Sensors
After talking with Max about a new FrSKy sensor hub I fancied adding an airspeed sensor, but it had to be small. Owning an Eagle Tree Systems Airspeed sensor I remembered just how small the pressure sensor they used was. So I went looking for a part number on it, nothing. It had 3 in line (SIP) pins...

That's fair enough, I think once the potential dangers of too much throw are removed it's just down to taste. I think we are all a little wiser for the discussion though. Thanks one and all.

Re: New feature: PPM servos settings
My idea, if anything is done, is to move the limit that is further away to be the same distance away as the nearer limit Yes, that's what I meant / had in my head. But then, maybe you want asymetric limits to provide differential ailerons for example, so I reckon we let the user set what they want....
