I believe OpenTX no longer develops for the 9XR-PRO radio, and actually the current versions have problems that were never fixed. Please someone correct me if I am wrong. This is odd as Companion appears to be using SAM-BA to access the radio. Normally you would use the bootloader. Please try powering the radio on with the two horizontal held inwards, this should start the radio in bootloader mode, then connect the USB cable. Companion should then use the bootloader...
