Frsky to Mlink telemetry converter

I'm using an old Multiplex Evo 9 with an Frsky hack module for 2 reasons. 1 - I prefer the ergonomics of the Evo to my Taranis, and 2 - I have a lot of Frsky receivers, which are much cheaper than Multiplex. Question - is it possible to see the Frsky telemetry on the Evo screen? I'm reasonably compe...

Re: Mlink-FrSky-Telemetry converter

Hi Toby, I still have the JR/MPX module, and yesterday I found another M-Link 7 channel telemetry receiver. So I followed your instructions and flashed the Arduino board. When I ran Arduino I selected your folder, but it gave me 2 choices - MSBeinlesen and SensorDaten. The first one compiled and fla...

Re: Mlink-FrSky-Telemetry converter

Hi Toby,

The problem is I don't know very much about Arduino. I've only used it to flash the diy vario. From memory I tried to open some of your .ino files, and got compilation errors.

I've actually sold all my Mpx receivers, so am off the project. Thanks for your kind help anyway.

Re: Mlink-FrSky-Telemetry converter

Thank you. I will report back when my module arrives. I have a spare Arduino proMini to use. Regards Andrew Tobi. My module arrived and I have made up the ProMini board. I have a problem with your arduino file. It stops with error messages when I try to upload it. I'm using the latest Arduino 1.6.5...

Re: Mlink-FrSky-Telemetry converter

Tobi. I have ordered an HFMG3 M-Link module for my Taranis, and would like to get telemetry from my M-Link receivers. Are you ready for public consumption?

Re: Interesting discovery with OpenXVario

I think you are correct about the unfiltered voltage. I have now changed 2 of my varios to feed power to the MS5611 board from VCC. In one case it has made the vario much more stable. The second case was a vario which I was never able to use as it fluctuated so wildly. Now it is almost usable, but I...

Interesting discovery with OpenXVario

I have put together several varios, but apart from one, all showed unsteady reading for vspd and alt. Alt especially would creep upwards all the time. Then I put one in an Elf dlg, between the trailing edge and the boom. But it was a tight fit, and the reset button kept pressing itself. So I had an ...

Telemetry screen 4th line

I have never figured out why there are 4 lines for each of the 4 telemetry screens. I have tried putting something in line 4, but have no idea how to make it visible. Can anyone show me once again how thick I am?

I suspect that your config.h file is setup to send data for items you have no sensor for. My sensor list only shows Alt and Vspd.

23/06/2015. Taranis Plus. It worked fine in 2.0.17. I am using a D4R-11 and an OpenXVario, matbe that makes a difference.

2.1 vario

Just started trying out 2.1 nightly. I assume that vario down has been discontinued? I notice that on the Vspd telemetry field it only shows positive values. No big deal, I normally know when I'm in sink!

I love the small graph in the mixer page showing weight and offset. Very neat.

Re: Vario works fine but no altimeter

What sort of values do you get for Vspd? Mike. This is an OpenXVario, which I have used before with Multiplex settings. Reflashed it for FrSky. The readings have only been lifting the vario, rx and battery up and down. Probably about 0.6 - 1.00 up, and about the same down. Alt values are also reaso...

Re: Vario works fine but no altimeter

Alt is there, after A1= and A2= is RXXI and TSSI, there is no AltB in the pick list. Sensitivity was set at 5, now set it to 2.

Works with source set to ---- or Vspd. Switch is set to on. Tried Ail, no difference.

Re: Vario works fine but no altimeter

Max has gone, welcome Half and Full. Otherwise the basics seem similar. I have two minor problems. Firstly there is no Alt+ telemetry value, is there a simple way to get the max altitude value? Secondly I cannot get vario tones to work, I've probably looked at the setting umpteen times without reali...

Re: Vario works fine but no altimeter

Thanks Mike. I used ER9X with my first 9X a long time ago. I'm amazed how how different the 2 firmwares are now. I had a Taranis (twice) but could not take to it, but I did get used to the programming. I have already found several things about ER9XSky which I like. It will take a little while before...

Re: Vario works fine but no altimeter

Had one of those "Ding!" moments! The 9XR Pro is better supported by ER9XSky, which is the software it comes with. So I flashed it, and tried again. Altitude now works as it should. This means that the fault lies with OpenTX rather than the vario. Problem solved, now to learn how to progra...

Vario works fine but no altimeter

Turnigy 9XR Pro, Frsky DJT module with telemetry modification, Frsky D4R-11, OpenXVario. The vetical speed is working fine, but I cannot get any values on altitude. I Know that the Frsky vario needs a digital and an analogue connection to work, but I think that the openXVario only needs digital. The...

Success!! Measured the resistance of all 6 resistors and did the calculation. Put them in the divider factor box and set the offsets to zero. Redid the comparative voltage tests and was very happy. For example if the telemetry screen showed 12.41 volts, the voltmeter gave 12.43. Also the Cell figure...
