I would prefer to submit a first draft for perusal and if you think I am going about it the right way, then I will put it on the wiki and continue from there.

Re: Companion9x Instructions

Let me see if I understand this correctly, model information is held in the eeprom and there are functions to read and write this. Then the firmware update functions are the read and write flash memory options. I am slowly working out the simulation functions using the old suck it and see methodolog...

Companion9x Instructions

Being completely new to all this open source technology, I recently built a sky9x system and have used sam-ba to update the firmware. I then discovered this tool and am a bit lost with all the functions available. Is there a guide available which has a brief description of each of the options availa...

Re: ERSKY9x Rev. B1 User Area

I have just returned from a successful day of flying, not only did my Sky9x get its first outing but just to show my faith in all the hard work done by Brent, Mike et al I maidened a new model at the same time. My main reason for this post was to ask about updating using Companion 9x. I wanted to ad...

Re: ERSKY9x Rev. B1 User Area

When dealing with ANY non working serial connection ..The First thing you do is swap the RXD and TXD lines as I recommended yesterday. The Board connections Go L - R RXD , TXD , GND Your pics show you do not have a cross over connection. -Brent That was the first thing I tried. If the board connect...

Re: ERSKY9x Rev. B1 User Area

I have tried it with and without the GND connection to no avail. If I have read the diagram for the circiut board correctly the signals L-R are TXD, RXD and GND. My connections as shown in the picture are L-R, Yellow, Red and Black and as is shown in the second photo the yellow wire is connected to ...

Re: ERSKY9x Rev. B1 User Area

I have attached photos to show how I have made the connections. Can someone confirm whether they are correct. Do I need to make any changes in the firmware to configure this.

Re: ERSKY9x Rev. B1 User Area

I used a servo connector on the Tx board where you would normally use the 2.5mm stero jack and brought the three lines out to the tx module, and sorry but I do not understand the TTL convertor comment.

Re: ERSKY9x Rev. B1 User Area

Is there something I have to do to get RSSI values displayed on the screen. I have made the connection between the Tx module and the sky9x board and have swapped the Rx and Tx lines but all I see displayed on screen are 0 values for the Tx and Rx. Is there anything else I need to do to have these va...

Re: ERSKY9x Questions

Brent, I have installed the board and all is working OK, so I am a happy camper. I have a question as to the function of the yellow and white wire and connection supplied with the mini din socket. Could I use them for a charging connection so that I would not have to remove the battery to charge it....

Re: ERSKY9x Questions

I have been following this thread with interest and have a question about the new board. Will you still require a Smartie Parts board with this new board.
