Re: Using eBay the "sniper" way (a dummy guide for ...)

Spoogy, you need to forget the "going, going, gone" type bidding system, where you have the fast talking guy with the hammer and whatever price was shouted out last is the winning price and bidder. This is a proxy bidding system. The seller tells the system what he wants as a minimum for t...

So you are saying the subject is misleading and does not represent the thread content?

USBasp V2.0 voltage setting

Found my USBasp V2.0 today in the mail. Still waiting for more parts required to modify the radio (10 pin male IDC header). The programmer looks exactly like this one: http://d2hcq6ej8tp1ns.cloudfront.net/large/AC-PG-USBASP_LRG.jpg As you can see there is a jumper labeled 5V 3.3V on it. I presume th...

Re: Using eBay the "sniper" way (a dummy guide for ...)

Right, the reserve. I think of that reserve as a "secret" starting bid. Not really much of a game changer. If I am willing to pay $30, I would place that bid just the same if the starting bid was $25.

Re: Using eBay the "sniper" way (a dummy guide for ...)

There is nothing unfair about either system. It is simply a different style of auction. If everyone places their maximum bid right away, the person willing to pay the most still wins and pays 1 increment more than the next runner up. The end result is the exact same. Let's say we have an auction for...

Using eBay the "sniper" way (a dummy guide for ...)

Don't get the wrong idea. I am in NO WAY trying to advertise anything here. All I want to do is share a little bit of a "buyer's experience" with those, who may resort to the "last chance". When it comes to purchasing ANYTHING that may be used, antique, hard to find or just usual...

Re: Welcome to 9x forums

Don't worry, that's no news to the telemarketers. I've been on the InterWebs since the beginning and never really tried to hide. It's not too difficult to find out my real name and since I have been an open source developer of a rather well known project for some 17 years, giving talks on conference...

I am German, but I live in the United States. The local beer store here has a good variety of Belgian, German and British stuff, so I'm not missing much. 8-)

Re: Original Turnigy Module with a Metal Shield??

The usual "assumption" is that for a "matched" antenna the length of a coax feed line of equal impedance is irrelevant. Most of the time that assumption is right.

Right, making it a little shorter will fix it.

Re: Original Turnigy Module with a Metal Shield??

RF shielding is never a bad idea. Keep in mind that at 2.4 GHz, 1/4-l is about 3.125 cm. Extrapolate harmonics from there. I don't know if this has been mentioned before, but if you intend to modify your 9x by moving the antenna to the RF module, DO NOT cut the cable! Desolder it from the module and...

Re: Must have items on your electronic workbench

I have a Seeed Studio Quad and am quite happy with it. It does have its shortcomings, like for example the small sample memory, that leads to significant errors when calculating frequencies unless you pick the right sampling rate. It is good enough for most hobby work. If you get one, get the matchi...

Re: Welcome to 9x forums

Time to introduce myself. I am entirely new to remote control of anything other than a TV. I am so bad at it that the "turbulence" created by our central air condition causes me to have trouble hovering a coaxial micro helicopter. So I figured that I will need a lot of money for repairs an...

Re: Make Turnigy module removable with existing hard ware

Based on this thread I modified my module similar. I used 6 layers of approximately 1mm thick plastic (that used to be a DVD case). The hole is 3/8'' making for a nice tight fit. Two layers cut like washers go on the outside IMGP2740_800x450.JPG and four on the inside. IMGP2741_800x450.JPG That lets...

Red riding hood
Red riding hood
The little red riding hood and the big bad 9x.

They came as protective caps on the PL-259 connectors of an antenna cable once. Never knew what I could use them for until today when I moved the antenna to the original V2 module.

There are new HP6DSM transmitters on eBay that cheap. Don't their RF modules work as well?
