Re: 9x been modded
Wow what a mess. The white board is a smartipsrts board designed to flash the much processor with upgraded firmware like er9x. It also adds a backlight. Not sure what the sparkfun board does but maybe it’s fixing a usb connection the smartiparts boars comes with? This sp board and er9x firmware adds...

Taranis QX7 cannot bind
The RF firmware that talks to your receiver isn’t opentx. That firmware lives in the internal xjt module. If you only flashed opentx versions, your xjt module is still fcc or EU as it was delivered. Your receiver firmware flashed does change it to fcc or EU. You want to be sure your receivers are us...

Re: Arduino Uno help
Thank you, that clears up my wondering. I’ll read up on it and give it a try one one uno that shouldn’t be damaged but w7 doesn’t see it and it did last time I used it? I see I can use one of the spare uno’s arriving tomorrow as a isp programmer to see if I just messed up the other one. The links pr...

Probably what happened. Only 2 ic’s on the board left. If I replace the 16u would it need programming to be a usb interface? My intention was to repair these boards but the 16u’s cost is 1/2 of what a new Chinese clone ( these were) costs. I just ordered 3 uno clones for $18 delivered so I may hold ...

Re: Arduino Uno help
Thanks for the fast reply. I was hoping I had trashed the code in the usb ic and even if I did or had to replace it, it seems I may have to flash it. So knowing how is part of the learning process. I may have damaged one of the boards way back when I put too much voltage (12v) on one of the i/o pins...

I have several questions and one usb issue that I’m confused on. The main issue is I have 3 uno clone boards that won’t connect to usb. I made the mistake of using my dremel grinder to cut the leads off. Went well until I discovered I had cut they one of the traces that runs under the processor. What to do? No easy way to add the wire externally without looking bad. My answer was to use the # 30 awg wire wrap wire. I stripped it and...

Re: Non invert Attiny 85 led driver.
So I must be spacing out? Gave it a try today after some sleep and coffee, with an emitter follower and then common emitter. The mode that looks correct to me is having the led connected from the Tiny85 output pins to ground. The common emitter with the led in the collector seems to look correct fla...

Re: Non invert Attiny 85 led driver.
Drive an N Mosfet directly from the ATtiny pin, or a P channrel Mosfet from an NPN transistor. In this case, base of the transistor to the Microcontroller pin, emitter to ground, and.collector to the Mosfet gate.. Place an 100K resistor between source and gate so the Mosfet can turn off.. Re: Non invert Attiny 85 led driver.
All good ideas! My thought was to invert the code but that’s still a challenge for me. If the posted code mod does that I’ll give it a try. I’ll study the changes and what they are doing. It’s a logical option but I’m more component oriented and usually take that approach. I should stock some P chan...

Is it posable it has the new otx fw that requires the power button be pushed for more that I think 3 seconds?
I haven’t upgraded to that yet but I herd comments about it from the newer x7 owners at my field.

Re: Need help finding the cable used for X9d plus switches and pots
Without a picture(s) showing the exact condition I’ll give a option that works for me in a pinch. A small tipped iron and small diameter solder will keep from drowning the connection in solder. It must stay thin profile. To make my larger solder a diameter or two smaller I find the pulling quickly o...

Adding a IRangeX serial multi module to my 9Xtreme? Just verifying some facts before moving forward. Does the latest ersky9x have support for the serial multi module. I know my Pro has. Orange Module running MULTI protocol
Is there a orange fw version that fixes the umx receiver issue but keeps the ppm mode Mike? I was asked this by a 10x owner that wants to stay with Fros on his 10x. I don’t think it supports the multi mode module fw option so he’s limited to ppm mode. I did suggest the IRangeX plus that had the knob...

Just learned something. So if I’m using a multimode flashed orange module or the 4in 1 in my 9xr pro I can already monitor dsmx (2?) lost frames and link counts? Wow, that’s something I just learned. I’ll have to try it. To be clear, any dsmx receiver that has telemetry should send out that info? I ...

No knob or knob set to zero uses the serial protocol from a tx using opentx or ersky9x. The multi mode firmware must be added to get the menu option that fw offers. MikeB has simplified programming in ersky9x especially getting to the menus. Mike even includes or included pre programmed basic aircraft and servo testing options. I haven’t checked that writing this. I had suggested several years ago that otx and maybe ersky9x, add a menu option that would hide al...

I would try to find the right antenna. I believe you will lose range if you use the D8R antenna. And you will lose the benefit of antenna diversity because this antenna has less gain than the original.. In other words, I wouldn't do it.. :) Check "alofthobbies" for buying a replacement an...
