Yes on otx 2.2.
Ok on using either module with the proper tx fw.
No hardware issues module bay wise, just fw on the tx.
Thanks

Orange Module running MULTI protocol
I'll keep this post to the point. Does ersky9x support the IRangeX multi module? Does open tx support the orange multi dsm flashed module? I'm sure these will be swapped around. In my case my pro, 9Xtreme, and Skyboard conversions will stay with the latest ersky9x. For the opentx frsky users, I'd li...

Re: Orange Module running MULTI protocol
Thanks Mike. So no permanent module fw issue if the buttons are pushed. Does recycling power return the module to its normal mode? After I think a power cycle, he was seeing the external multi mode option. I know this module and pro worked when I left it with him. We flew my Pitts with it. He did se...

Re: Orange Module running MULTI protocol
Good idea. I'm not sure he can deal with loading it? At this point I'm planning on meeting him at the RC field in 2 days to see what's going on. He's bringing his pro, module, and umx Pitts. I'm bringing my computer loaded up with eepe and eepskye, my pro and a module I know is working. I'll give hi...

Re: Orange Module running MULTI protocol
I've got an interesting situation to post. When I met with my friend last week at the field, I test flew with him a already test flown multi conversation module installed in his pro (fw221). We used my umx Pitts and his bound and it flew great. I sent his pro home with him still setup on the same mo...

Re: Orange Module running MULTI protocol
Where I got confused in the beginning, was thinking I had to use both the pro mini and the update Xmega not realizing that the process had been improved to use only the pro mini. Once that was cleared up it was easy. Maybe put the update in a sub Maint menu in case it is needed rather that fully rem...

Re: Orange Module running MULTI protocol
I'm reading and watching the progress. I have the pro mini loaded with the bootloader, but have a new one (3.3 & 5v) I can try it for the experience. I've never used the ftdi as it arrived after I used my uno pro board in its place. Doing it all with my pro does make it simpler. Seems easy enoug...

Re: Orange Module running MULTI protocol
My friend wants to be able to use 9xr pro's internal handle antenna. I had a beta module that I've converted and he saw mine. I don't think I've ever seen a module shell available with the required rear coax connector and cable for sale. I do see a orange version dsm module however with that connect...

Orange Module running MULTI protocol
I had the same idea and found several, all I need. When I was installing my 9Xtreme board in a th9x last year, I bought some damaged boards from Steven (smartiparts) to practice smd rework. Checking these boards I see several 100 ohm ones I can use. I forgot I had them in storage. So, I'm good to go...

Great! I don't have any SMD resistors stocked. Maybe I can wedge in 2ea 1/4 w 100 ohm ones in somewhere? Maybe I can buy locally some 1/8 or 1/10 watt axial lead 100 ohm resistors. No inexpensive source for just 2 SMD resistors. I'll see what I can make work. My knowledge of SMD parts sizes is limit...

I'll make up the header plug. I don't want to lift any pads on his green board or in the future. Please let me outline again what I'm going to do. Now I just have to check out the link to it.

Re: Orange Module running MULTI protocol
New questions. The next and planned final action, is to carefully reread all the info on his green board and upgrade its fw to multi. He will want his back and I'm loaning him a tested blue board conversion to give me time to study up on the different connections and Pdi file to use. I was thinking ...

Yes I agree. Just got back to it and a fresh w7 install on my laptop. It was time! Explorer core was messed up and some programs wouldn't start. I loaded a new eepe/eppskye and downloaded a 9xr pro version of r220. It loaded ok and now everything seems normal. I'm thinking my laptop issues helped in...

Re: ERSKY9x Questions
I had to check it out. Who needs sleep. Ok, they were highlighted and now they aren't! The directions are correct but the trims aren't? I had to push the left trim right at power on to get into the hardware mode. I see on the r220 tx with gnus issue has a AR9X tick box where my r221 doesn't? Is it p...

I'll check that first thing tomorrow. Eyes won't stay open.
No idea that option was there. We were trying to do all this at the field today and probably that could have happened then.
I'll post the outcome.

Thanks Mike. I thought that was the page but with all I was doing st the time, I couldn't remember where I got r221 or why? So I see ersky9x wants to download r220 for the pro. I need someone to brainstorm with me? I'm trying to setup a HK 9xr Pro with the latest ersky9xr pro fw. I'm looking for r221 but for now 220 sn loaded. Re: PPM protection resistor
Reading that the AR9X board already has the protection resistor in line on its board, it would seem you will remove the 100 ohm added for the 9Xtreme board and replace it with a short across the trace gap.

In 108f temp today I test flew the two blue board orange multi fw upgrade flying my umx Pitts. The outcome was 100% successful with both. Now I'm curious about that Pdi Jhsa? Had I used the pro mini or the 9xr Pro update Xmega, but not both after attaching the 4 module pad wires to flash the bootloader. Then removed the wires, put the reassembled module in my pro and used the update multi and hex file ( all blue in my case), it would ...

Success! Really makes sense now Mike, I just got caught in a Pdi flashing loop? I now have one to use and one to loan out to those that own a tx that can support it. As quick bind test to my umx plane, I selected DSM Auto and it selected dsmx-22 and bound. Rssi Telemetry was also there! Wow have I g...

FYI, but I'm sure you know about it Mike, but it interested me. While I was at it, I opened a white module and it has a green board. It has R1 and R2 soldered in place. They show 1000 and read 100 ohms on my meter. Ok, googled it and 1000 is 100 ohms on the 4 digit SMD chart. I don't use enough of t...
