Win8.1 and eepe

Looking for help! New labtop win8 op. system. Download eepe without a problem. Go to download driver for Usbasp 6 pin tool it downloads but i can open it but can't get it to run/work when tool is plugged in( it's not the usb ports or the tool). Everything works as it should on desktop! Labtop in eepe i get a respones of avrdude can not locate driver. I open driver files click on x64 nothing! That's the processer in labtop x64. I believe! Any help would be appreciated Thanks

at one time this link was mentioning win8 success. Now it isnt so clear

probably what he intended to say is that the drivers on the web page did not work. I agree the wording was vague.
but anyway.
thanks for the update I will update my website accordingly.
Sorry but I do not use windows 8.
Maybe you can install a usable OS on a flash drive and boot to that when you want to do some work

Rperkins & mike think i figured it out working on it now. Downloaded some update software from uberdrive I think!! Did a google search for free drive updates and the uber site was the only one that was free and the lptp is recognizing the usbasp tool. So moving forward, sorry about being vague!!
