Programmers forum deleted
I was subscribed to the programmers forum to support all forum members with their programming problems. Now it seems that forum is gone.
http://opentxforums.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=10
which forum should programming related issues be discussed.? I have a link on 9xrprogrammer.com that sends people to the appropriate place to ask questions
thanks

Re: Programmers forum deleted
In the new scheme we were supposed to have a programmers subforum in the 9x radio. I see Rob put Smartie PArts only there, and moved most programmer (hardware)-related threads to the General help (software) section... probably made some mistakes...
Having an SP section isn't a bad thing per se, but should be a subforum of the Programmers one.
Will try reorganizing that, but didn't really need that just now...

Re: Programmers forum deleted
no hurry. Just let me know where it ends up and I will update the link on my page and subscribe the sub-forum to help all forum members with their programming related issues.
Re: Programmers forum deleted
So how did this shake out ?
Is there a/going_to_be sub-forum for programming issues with the 9x/9xr ?
I'd like to narrow my focus a little further than subscribing to the general hardware forum.
thanks

Re: Programmers forum deleted
There are a number of sections for this that can all be found in this section.
OPEN RADIO CONTROL TRANSMITTER FIRMWARES
General Model Setup Questions - for all generic questions and I guess legacy posts.
Each firmware then section has it's own sub forum for specific firmware programming help.
e.g. er9x model setup - found in the er9x firmware section.
If you expand all the OPEN RADIO CONTROL TRANSMITTER FIRMWARES section on the root board - it should all make sense!

Slope Soaring, FPV, and pretty much anything 'high tech'

Re: Programmers forum deleted
Umm.... Nothing is clear to me with regard to the prorammer section. I cannot find it so I assume that it doesn't exist. Of course I might have missed it in my search.
Shame if it has gone as it had a lot of valuable information and as we know, a huge number of problems are related to the programmers.
May I suggest that at the very least that we have a sub forum to the 'General help (hardware)' forum.
I have to say that the recent changes have IMO made it difficult to navigate around. As a previous poster mentioned. We fo seem to have a lack of focus with many of the forums. Of course that may be intentional, but it doesn't help you finding out what you need to know or where to put a post sometimes.
Other than that.. Good work Rob.

I don't seem to be able to post in the Turnigy 9xr Radio thread any more.
Re: Programmers forum deleted
Looking at recent changes, I think Rob just has too much time on his hand. I think we should put him back on the developer's list (as he once were), so he can fool around with programing more.
Re: Programmers forum deleted
I did a search on my posts that I knew were made in the programmers forum. I found them and the threads they were on in the General help (software) section, which is a sub of 'General help and information' although it isn't shown as a sub like others are like the Smartie sub forum.Rob Thomson wrote:The whole section on programmers is still all there?
Just a suggestion. How about changing the name of the General help (software) section to 'Programmers' before it gets covered in general stuff, then make that a sub forum that you can see on the front page.

Re: Programmers forum deleted
That forum should now be moved to be a subsection of "Transmitter Hardware" > "FlySky TH9X / Turnigy 9X / Eurgle 9X radio" (with the smartieparts programmer one inside), and a new General Help (Software) created where it was!
I can do it, but not before tomorrow...

Re: Programmers forum deleted
Right.. the new forum for Flysky9X style radio/programmers is here:
http://openrcforums.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=109
You will note that what we are trying to do here is to get all 9X programmer issues in one place.
Essentially, a different section per radio type!
