Where are the Model templates?

I've been away from the hobby for about the past 18 months. I'm now getting my XLite Pro firmware and SD Card info updated. Firmware update was not a problem. To solve version-out-of-sync error at the radio startup, I was updating the SD Card. I was surprised to find that there are no longer Model files included in the Model folder of the SD Card download.
The core problem I'm trying to work out is Companion crashes when "Read models and settings from radio" is selected.
Would someone point me to the documentation that explains this change sometime this past 18 months?
The SD Card version is 2.3V0038
The Companion version 2.3.13
