Re: 3 position flap switch
my understanding is that by lowering the flaps the shape of the wing is modified into a configuration giving more lift at the landing and take off speeds.

Re: 3 position flap switch
Mike- I will enter those lines to learn. but I like the advice of keeping the elevator on stick. I live where the final approach to Newark airport is overhead. At times its very easy to hear the flaps on the commercial aircraft lower. Its a sound of its own when ya hear it enough. Thanks for the pro...

Re: 3 position flap switch
[quote=Deployment of flaps is a good example of a situation in which the slow function is potentially helpful ." I enjoyed and learned from this discussion. But the flaps lowering slowly is the best. how would slowing down the lowering of the flaps be entered into the 3 position switch programm...

Re: 3 position flap switch
scratch flaperons. ailerons not in equation. when flaps are deployed isn't the elevator used to counteract the balloon effect and keep the plane balanced? or is better just to adjust elevator as needed?

Re: 3 position flap switch
as the aircraft slows and the flaps are lowered by using the 3 position switch, the elevator will rise to a predetermined height positions 1 and 2. is it possible to have the flaps and elevator work from a pot to dial the amt of flaperon desired??

Re: use DSM2™/DSMX Orange module in 9x w/ er9x / frsky dht
I'm asking about this because I want to get a amphib that has a spectrum rx. didn't think about swappin modules. but w/ the smartie boards is it better to have the swappable modules or the dht and then other mosds. so then the 9X mod would still work if plugged in with the antennae reattached? yea B...

use DSM2™/DSMX Orange module in 9x w/ er9x / frsky dht
I installed the dht telemetry module in a 9x flashed w/ er9x/frsky. installed smartie boards. In order to tx with the Orange Module for DSM2™/DSMX would I just put an interrupt toggle switch in the yellow and red leads that is/are soldered to the PCB? Hobby King OrangeRX DSMX/DSM2 2.4Ghz Transmitter...

Re: Beeper Circuit Fried
hey Mike, The S8050 (s) arrived. Only used two to arrive at proper placement of leads. when installed in an 1-2-3 layout (EBC leads not marked) as outlined on PCB the beeper emitted a continuous tone. So used the new installed one after removing to find proper lead placement. Happy to say all well. ...

Re: Beeper Circuit Fried
Replaced the voltage reg. readings now @ 4.9+ and 4.6. piezo spkr still no sound. when removed chirps as expected. Put in new radio shack speced out above. Have beeps but volume real low. Changing volume on pg 1/6 in radio control has no effect. Is the 8050S a switch to allow voltage to flow when a ...

Re: Beeper Circuit Fried
is that reading w/ any buttons depressed? i have a 7805 on hand. also a piezo spkr. rated @ 3.0-16VDC 4.1 khz 7ma. doesn't sound as loud as hk's. after trying that one I tried one on pcb w/ tx pk @ balance plug. so only one cell powering piezo. fits perfectly on 1st and fourth of 3s. put plug to nub...

Re: Beeper Circuit Fried
Hi, well I opened the case and took readings. have continuity from main pcb to solder joints on sound/buzzer board. applied 12v from battery balance directly to piezo spkr and emits (chirps) sound normally. I put a jumper cable from grnd to grnd (neg earth) in the cases to power up. w\W/ unit powere...

Re: DO's and DONT's for the newcomer to 9x
I soldered a JST pigtail to the factory pcb at the battery connector and looped around into the battery compartment next to the smartie progmmr. The connecter is for the Turnigy 2.2 tx pack. Now cover closes, no battery mod and original socket still in place. Cannot easily reverse polarity
