Hi everyone, I just got a new Taranis + SE. I've had it for a few weeks but just now got around to programming it for a few of my quads. I went to bind it with one of my quads using an X4R SB. Radio is set to D16 and model to 01. I go through the bind procedure like I've done dozens of times before ...

Re: new Taranis Plus Special Edition * *corrupted SD card**
Ah! I see...when I upgraded I was in BL mode so the BL didn't get upgraded. After I watched a Painless 360 youtube video I saw that he just connected the radio without turning it on to the USB. Now my BL is 2.1.9

Re: new Taranis Plus Special Edition * *corrupted SD card**
Thanks jtaylor but shouldn't the bootloader have been automatically upgraded when I upgraded from 2.1.6. to 2.1.9 using companion? If not how do I upgrade just the bootloader? Even though things seem to be working now I'd like to make sure I have the latest BL too. Thanks.

Re: new Taranis Plus Special Edition * *corrupted SD card**
I tried several times to rebuild the card and initially it would work but every time I tried to make setting changes with companion the card would become corrupted again. Once corrupted I would see the behavior that when I disconnected the USB cable the radio would still show that it was still conne...

The radio came with 2.1.6. I updated to 2.1.9 which it is running now. The bootloader is 2.1.6.

Update:
I was able to rebuild the files on the card but it quickly became corrupted again. Could this be a problem with 2.1.9?

new Taranis Plus Special Edition * *corrupted SD card**
Hi, I just got a new Taranis SE to replace my old Taranis original X9D. It seemed to work fine until I plugged it into my computer so I could load some models. It seems that the SD card is corrupted as the f: drive just shows nonsense characters instead of the normal folders. It also seems to act fu...

Do you make a UHF Openlrsng JR style module that will plug into the Taranis?

Re: FrSky 2.4ghz and 1.3Ghz video
How soon is soon? I have had success with 910mhz but the antenna options aren't great and CP is out of the question. I made my own dipole which works well but multipath is a problem.

FrSky 2.4ghz and 1.3Ghz video
Well I've posted about this before and I think I've finally given up on this. FrSky 2.4 (with telemetry) just won't work with 1.3Ghz video. I've tried low pass filters, I've tried notch filters, I've tried lower wattage Tx's and combinations of all that and nothing gives me a decent range. When doin...

Re: Antenna mod
Rob the reason I'm asking is because I was experiencing some range issues when using the X series Rx's with 1.3GHz VTx. I am using a low pass filter to help eliminate the harmonic but still wasn't able to achieve a proper range test until I lowered the output power of the VTx from 400mW to 200mW and...

Re: can I remove the plastic case from the PCB Ant?
Looks like you did an excellent job, and IMO getting the ant away from all that carbon fiber would be better. Is the wire stiff enough to hold them there? The wire isn't stiff enough but I used some heatshrink over the wire to make it rigid enough to stand on its own. Yet it is flexible enough to s...

Re: can I remove the plastic case from the PCB Ant?
How hard was it to get the plastic cases off? Sorry that it took so long to get back to this.....I used an exacto knife and carefully worked in along the seam of the plastic casing. It's not hard and once you get the knife into the seam you can kind of pry the plastic case open. I've done this on t...

Better than stock antenna?
I'm sorry if this has been covered before. I did do a search and didn't find much of anything. I've owned my Taranis now for several months and I really appreciate the incredible things I can program it to do. I have noticed some reduced range when using the X series Rx's with a 1.3GHz VTx for FPV. ...

It moved! Try: http://www.t9hobbysport.com/analogue-voltage-sensor-x8r2analog-for-frsky-x8r-receiver or: http://www.alofthobbies.com/x8r2analog.html Mike. Oh right! Wayne at Aloft sells these too. I'll pick one up for my X8R. I only have one as my others are X6Rs and they have the analog port which...

Re: Teranis & X8R telemetry question
I designed this: http://www.t9hobbysport.com/analogue-voltage-sensor-for-frsky-x8r-receiver to easily provide a voltage input for the X8R. I believe openTx supports the resulting value. Alternatively, if 6 channels are enough, you could get a X6R. With that, you have access to the voltage sensor an...

So let's say you DO have to wait. Do you have a solution? It's ok to say it can't be done or you don't know.Kilrah wrote:That one's easy if you take the probem at the root - you do NOT need to wait 10 secs after arming, so the whole thing is useless

Count down timer that stops at zero.
So I've been learning to use custom switches and functions to customize my Taranis and I've been able to come up with some useful things. For example I fly multirotors and to arm my FC it's thr -100 rud 100 (no throttle yaw right). I fly OpenPilot boards and once you arm you are supposed to wait 10 ...

Re: can I remove the plastic case from the PCB Ant?
I was finally able to get out today to do a range test. With my PCB antennas, that were removed from the plastic paddle cases, I was able to get a little more than 100m (in range test mode) before getting critical RSSI warning. Event then it was just momentary. I don't think removing the cases affec...

Re: Best source for learning about custom switches and funct
I guess what I'm looking for are examples of how to accomplish useful things. Like is most probably the case on your router there are millions of different things you might want to do and many ways to do each of them - so obviously examples would only show a small subset of that. Best to understand...

Wayne at Aloft told me the way to tell is if you plug the charger in and the green LED blinks for a little while and then goes solid, that's a version B (which mine does). Thanks Kilrah.

The date code would indicate that it was manufactured over a year ago. That's why I'm questioning which I have.Kilrah wrote:I've heard it's the serial.

^ I guess what I'm looking for are examples of how to accomplish useful things. Each command is defined but what you need is an example of how you accompli...

which version Taranis do I have?
Having just received my Taranis (purchased from Aloft Hobbies) I assumed that I got the latest version, and on the transmitter cover it has the serial number X9D007984B01, which I assumed the B means rev B, however, on the inside of the compartment is a date code which reads A01 US AH 01/01/2013. So...
