The "why" would be to have only one usb connection to the transmitter, used to update the firmware on both chips, main and audio, and used to read/write the data to the sd card.

Re: Audio (voice) - Stock 9X PCB
It seems pretty complicated; it is a lot of work and the windows drivers needs to be modified. Definitely faster would be to add a hub and an ftdi chip plus some switches to isolate the circuits when the usb is not powered and not connected..

Re: Audio (voice) - Stock 9X PCB
Now to my original question: how complicated would be to have the usbasp connected to the main chip using ISP, and Rx and Tx (from the original Thomas Fischer design) to the audio chip? Could the Atmega 8 act as the usbasp in one case and USB/serial converter in the second? More precise can a firmwa...

Re: 9x full programmer mod power consumption
The more I think about this the more it seems a bad idea; the usbasp chip could get power trough the miso, mosi, reset lines and protection diodes, start running unreliable if the BOD is not programmed correctly and pull the main chip reset low when you are happily flying your latest bought expensiv...

Re: Audio (voice) - Stock 9X PCB
The bootloader on the main is activated when the trims are switched towards the inside upon powering up the radio. What is the procedure activating the bootloader on the audio board? I remember reading of a byte sequence? If so it could be connected to both, right?

Re: Audio (voice) - Stock 9X PCB
Can this Audio board be connected with the computer using the TX and RX present on the USBASP board? I hate to use 2 usb connections, one for updating the flash/eeprom on the main m64/m128 and another FTDI for the audio board.

9x full programmer mod power consumption
Trying to make sense of instructions: http://openrcforums.com/wiki/index.php/ ... Programmer
The usbasp will consume power all the time, even when not connected to the usb. Anyone who has done this can tell what is the power consumption?
Thanks,
Dusan

Version confused
I modified my flysky 9x with back-light, speaker, haptic, upgraded to m128, modified the board for frsky telemetry; now I'm confused what version to flash it. Is it er9x-frsky.hex? What about the frsky mod? If i want the 2561 what would the hex file? I'm used to opentx that has all the options separ...

FrSky Taranis and DSM2
Does a stock FrSky Taranis works with a DSM2 receiver? E.g. lemon.
Thanks.
Thanks.
